Did they seriously believe they weren’t all just going to eat their own? Is their hubris (and lack of historical knowledge) that great?

I really hope he's right.

Pitt is just the first. There will be many more. Thanks to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and RFK Jr., biomedical research in the US will be hobbled for at least a generation, if not much longer.

I’m for disclosure and avoidance of ALL financial conflicts of interest. What RFK Jr. ands his antivax cronies will do will be simply to shift conflicts of interest from Big Pharma to Big Supplement, Big Wellness, and Big Quackery.

Sadly, it would not surprise me in the least if this is confirmed to be true. As soon as he was nominated for HHS, I predicted that RFK Jr. would replace several (or even all) ACIP members with antivax fake "experts."

This is a very old antivax trope. Antivaxxers have even written a children’s book about it.

William McAdoo once described Warren G Harding's speeches as "an army of pompous phrases moving over the landscape in search of an idea." The same is true for Trump, but the army is working on quarter-rations, it's lost, and none of the officers have a map. Also they're armed with slingshots.

I’m blinded by the competence.🤦🏻‍♂️

RFK Jr. has long been blatantly racist in his ableism.

As a political scientist who studies countries that managed to stop the slide into authoritarianism, I can assure you that ***refraining from provoking the authoritarian*** is not how it works. Without further ado, I will now go tear out another chunk of hair.

Competence.🤦🏻‍♂️ www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...

It could be argued that I’ve wasted 20 years of my life doing the same. My first article about RFK Jr.’s antivax conspiracies was in 2005.) Most—although, in fairness, not all—of my colleagues looked askance at my activism, as though it was a quirky hobby rather than very, very necessary.

I was told today that we cannot proceed with two planned faculty hires bc of lack of $ (startups are funded through IDCs). We had interviewed people, etc. All for nothing.

Make cancer great again.

RFK Jr. is NOT a “vaccine skeptic.” He’s been a hardcore antivax conspiracy theorist for at least two decades.

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this. Anyway, don't obey in advance, and don't obey later.

Make measles great again! (It’s my theme of the day given what’s happened today.)

Make measles great again!

Correct. The antivax movement has long been strongly eugenicist and social Darwinist.

Make Measles Great Again!😢

Dammit! I wish I’d coined this one.
