Roy Lichtenstein (American 1923-1997) Blue Grapes, 1972. Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. He rose to prominence in the 1960s through pieces which were inspired by popular advertising and the comic book style.

This evening I had this from my local Intermarche. That’s a bottle of Bordeaux Superior for £2.50 retail. Moreover it’s 9 years old from a good vintage. The crisis in Bordeaux is very real. The wine itself was fine but clearly its cloudy appearance meant something went wrong along the way…

I really like this brand- they have higher end stuff and then they have everyday stuff like this Burgundy Pinot Noir. Nothing special, nothing too complex. Just a good weekday red that runs under $25 and delivers textbook flavors that are varietally correct.

2016 Trepat by Carles Andreu. You could have fooled me presenting it to me as a burgundy.
