Following yet another brush with death, my Dad is due to be discharged back to his care home today. However, there are two patients with his name on his ward. This has caused confusion when requesting information, particularly from nursing staff who are basically over stretched

There's a word for countries where it's illegal to criticise their leader

If you cut foreign aid, you are hurting the vulnerable. If you cut or freeze PIP & other disability benefits, you are hurting the vulnerable. The recipients can’t push back, & have little power to resist. If you increase wealth taxes, you’re not going to hurt anyone. But the rich, push back

I like to be slightly late to Teams calls with Americans to avoid inane small talk

Watching Andi Oliver on Great British Menu has prompted me to listen to a bit of RIP Rig & Panic.

Number crunching: BP’s change of strategy on renewables  From the new Private Eye, out now.

Those new Amazon Bond films in full From the latest Private Eye, in shops now.

One day I'd like a work meeting that DOESN'T include an incomprehensible PowerPoint flowchart that might as well be a map of the International Space Station electronic systems

Had 3 pints of Guinness Zero. Feel pissed.

In general terms, we all have to work out what we are going to do now that 'Merica has gone fully fash. Both on an international level and personal level. I work for an American company. I don't feel comfortable with that.

You can tell how awful the Trump Ukraine thing is as it's provoking a partial reaction on Facebook. But not as much as potholes.

#Parkrun volunteer number 100 this morning. I'm hoping to be able to run again soon, in the meantime I am loving giving back. Even in thick frost.

Bigging up Humshaugh. I once mimed the drums at the village hall.

I've made a bottle of brown ale last the entire evening. Who the fuck am I and what have I done with me?

I'd forgotten Skype was a thing

I've paraphrased this quote before, however, it can be repeated here. We are going to be the generation that burns the planet as the alternative isn't economically viable. BBC News - BP shuns renewables in return to oil and gas - BBC News www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
