For my #dnd group that I #DM I try to make little keepsakes, small dioramas of memorable moments, larger versions of their minis, and lastly-this. It holds the main dice they used, their mini and eventually a version of their character sheet. WIP.

Hot take and an amateur tip. Dry brushing is way better than air brushing terrain. Especially natural terrain. Use a dark spray paint/primer that will serve as base coat and then dry brush away. #terrain #dungeonmaster #dnd #ttrpg #minipainting

Finally finished. The Chocolate Room. What started as a fun gnome/xmas one-shot turned into leprechaun shenanigans, then a journey through Oz and, finally, helping Charlie restore the Chocolate Factory. “A whangdoodle would eat 10 oompa-loompas for breakfast.”

As a DM I get excited when the Wizard feather falls and unknowingly lands next to a Dire Troll capable of doing 120 pts of damage per turn. But I get even more excited when he and the troupe, honed in combat, use their expertise to incapacitate the troll for the ENTIRE battle. Psychic Lance. #dnd

In my engineering class we use our tools to try to improve the lives of others. Example- redesign games for people with disabilities (low vision and/or fine motor issues). Oversized,magnetic game pieces to 3d overlays to colorblind friendly colors, these were awesome. #3dprinting #assistivetech

Huge battle tomorrow. The all female band of warriors need to retrieve ancient artifacts from an adult white dragon’s lair. A thousand years ago a similar battle unfolded and the bones of an ancient dragon lay scattered amongst the ruins of a city carved into an icy mountain.

Another cool CAD / #3dprinting project for middle or upper grades. Upcycle a soda bottle by redesigning the cap. Coke gave it a shot about a decade ago with their Second Life campaign (video still on YouTube). The bottle cap file can be found on grabcad in variety of file types.

Early CAD project. Print out a CAD widget (one of those CAD practice files with no obvious use). Pass out part with calipers. Students reverse engineer back to CAD. Could print their part in new color to compare or even have them submit technical drawing. #Fusion360 #Simplify3d #MakerEd
