Hey, do you enjoy stg games, otherwise known as shmups? Well, here is, as far as I know, the only stg/shmup game dev starter pack on Bsky! Please follow and pass it along to support the wonderful devs working on this often unappreciated genre. Thanks!❤️ #stg #shmup #gamedev go.bsky.app/TC8tf1Y

I don't know what possessed me to try Battletoads/Double Dragon after attempting to beat the first Battletoads became a nightmare, but it's jarring how much easier (and fun) it is.

I get jealous of other STG game devs whose ships cast shadows on the ground. I, uh, haven't even started to think about how to do that yet.

Everything about this is psychotic. youtu.be/JqgqgcE8Zck?...

Touch controls are working now so you should be able to play on your phone! Bomb = double-tap Blood Weapon = two-finger touch neurocrasher.itch.io/blood-ship #indiegames #retrogaming #shmups #stg #sega

How to be a short-form content creator: Take a popular clip, crop it into a vertical aspect ratio, and cut out the boring bits that only establish rhythm and mood. Add an AI narrator and royalty-free music whether it fits the tone or not, then upload with a watermark so others can't steal your art.

Whenever I run out of space for desktop icons, I just buy a higher resolution monitor.

I just deleted my Threads. I'm all in on Bluesky.

I can turn you off of using Facebook in one easy step. Find a subject that you actually know a lot about and then read the know-it-all comments about said subject on FB. Now realize that's exactly how misinformed the average user is when it comes to discussing literally every other topic.

Here's the intro to my early access video game Blood Ship! youtu.be/pqONn4xwIGg #gaming #retrogaming #indiegaming #shmups #STG

I found a new favorite cover artist today. catspawdynamics.com/jonah-hex-no...

I'm disappointed by the fact that there hasn't been a Terminator sequel titled, simply, "Terminators."

Looking at my previous Steam aliases, I can pinpoint when I started playing Rust, beginning with changing my name to "Friendly Player Dont Shoot" and quickly escalating to "MURDERER" when the initial gambit did not work. I stopped playing when I had a nightmare that someone C4'ed my nightstand.

The first level of my shoot 'em up Blood Ship is now available to play in your browser for free! neurocrasher.itch.io/blood-ship Best ways to play it: fight stick > gamepad > keyboard. I'm really looking forward to feedback to make it feel more legit! #shmups #STG #indiegame #retrogaming #SEGA

How to make a billion dollars using one simple trick: Make a Star Wars movie. Disney tries to sue you until they notice the disclaimer at the end of the film: "No copyright infringement intended." Disney's top lawyer slams his fist against the desk and says, "Damn it... it's airtight."

You knew you were in a good video store if they had the talking Frankenhooker box and the Bad Taste cover that wasn't (poorly) altered to hide the fact the alien on the cover was shooting the finger.

My favorite YouTube comment of all time.

Pay for ad-free experience. Streaming service invariably thinks, "Well, surely he didn't mean to eliminate OUR ads."

Wake up. See trending video. Download. Split-screen with mundane Rocket League footage. Lay down some motivational music. Place watermark so nobody steals my hard work (crucial step). Re-upload to TikTok. Hashtag inspirational. Hashtag "laughing" emoji. I have become content creator. Show me money.

Me avoiding death by only saying "unalive" from now on.

It's weird when people make fun of a band for being a one-hit wonder. "Oh, you only created one song that will be remembered forever? Pssh, losers!"

DOOM 3 is the worst mainline entry in the franchise, yet still one of the best first person shooters ever made.

I was 40 years old before I learned that Guy Fieri wasn't, in fact, a former member of Nsync. And I was 41 when I learned how much his chicken sandwiches are.

Another Hollywood movie pitch: Tremors... but in space.

Hey, Hollywood. Here are some pitches: Point Break... but with motorcycles. Fast and Furious... but with motorcycles. Cars... but with motorcycles. (I've got a million of these so just hire me already.)

I still Google "Half-Life 3" from time to time. 😭

My superpower is I'm apparently immune to poison ivy, as I learned by accident last summer.

So you're telling me the major social media sites were able to place some kind of algorithmic filter on the word "death," but the same programmers are for some reason helpless to do the same thing for the word "unalive?" 🤔

I refuse to buy a new pair of glasses until the current ones are so scratched they look like hockey ice.

If they're really going to do Black Phone 2, they should make a LOT of sequels so we can eventually get Grabber's Dead, Grabber Goes to Hell, Grabber X ("Grabber in Space") and Grabber vs. Longlegs.

For real, though, who decided search engines should ignore quotations, minus signs, and the rest of the helpful tricks that worked long before Google became a household name?

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is all the proof you need that the festival racer has thoroughly outstayed its welcome. I'm not crazy about its lack of PVP (or any multiplayer at all), but otherwise it's my first car game since Gran Turismo 7.

A problem with AAA games' long development cycles is they chase trends that may be dead by the time the game finally comes out. Multiverses were embarrassingly old hat by the time MK1 came out and that game "only" took two years to develop. Imagine how bad it would look if it had taken seven.

Billionaires are like natural disasters. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity or remorse or fear. Instead of hurling insults at the hurricane, go after the people who voted to leave the shutters wide open.

I'm glad people like Arcade 1-Up, but it has absolutely ruined one of my favorite pastimes, which was searching for authentic arcade cabs on eBay, CL, and Marketplace. You literally cannot weed out the 1-Up results because search engines have inexplicably gotten MUCH dumber in the last few years.

I just want a vertical handheld that has 2 thumbsticks AND doesn't have a chonky-boy form factor. RG40XXV has 1 thumbstick, the pricey Pocket DMG went with a trackpad instead of a second stick, and the RG406V (pictured) is too curvy, but I'd probably get it if PS2 titles ran better on it.

youtu.be/fIal1Js0utI?... A gameplay and music demo for the shoot 'em up I've been developing since December. This stage will be playable next month on neurocrasher.itch.io so follow me there!

So which billionaire is going to buy Bluesky to absolutely ruin it?

It seems the only time my brain wants to play video games anymore is 10 minutes before work or 10 minutes after I should be in bed.

I'm so glad that the trailers didn't spoil how ape-shit insane Nic Cage looks in Longlegs.

If only someone gave me a billion dollars, I'm confident that through hard work and perseverance I could become a self-made millionaire.
