Made it to Indianapolis. Ready to Rumble.

New #Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar is living the dream: 'Finally, I'm a Brave!' Atlanta's acquisition is their latest Curaçao connection. My latest for Marietta Daily Journal: www.mdjonline.com/sports/atlan...

More power at the plate, or more power on the horizon in left field? Ronald Acuña Jr. is putting in that work with #Braves Spring Training just one month away.

we've got a new hammer territory podcast today with @grantmcauley.bsky.social graciously joining the show for an interesting braves discussion

With the departures of Max Fried and now Charlie Morton this winter, the #Braves have lost roughly 60 starts and 340 innings from their 2024 rotation. Even with the eventual return of Spencer Strider, Atlanta has a clear need for at least one more proven and/or dependable starter.

Charlie Morton will indeed pitch for an 18th season, but it will be for the Orioles in 2025. After a 4-year stint with the #Braves, Morton, 41, gets $15 million from Baltimore. He'll stay in the East and train in Sarasota – close to their family home in Bradenton.

So, we may not ring in the New Year with a flurry of #Braves transactions, but I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for following along, subscribing, interacting with, and otherwise supporting my work in 2024. This was my 20th season in baseball, so here's to 20 more?!

Really good Braves Winter Meetings recap from @grantmcauley.bsky.social, including chats with Brian Snitker and the AJC’s @justinctoscano.bsky.social. Always an awesome listen. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/f...

New episode of From The Diamond dropped this weekend! @grantmcauley.bsky.social spends an hour covering the #Braves offseason so far, the Winter Meetings, and more. If you need a Braves fix, this is one of the best podcasts in the biz.

Covered Max Fried from A-ball to the big leagues and all that followed. A determined competitor who was always thoughtful and open when discussing both the highs and the lows – he was accountable. Wish him all the best in the next chapter. He shared a message with #Braves fans on his Instagram.

#Braves have more than a few needs to attend to this winter, but they remain upbeat as they search for the missing pieces. Discussed their shopping list, the importance of returning stars, and the luxury tax implications in my latest for the Marietta Daily Journal. www.mdjonline.com/sports/atlan...

The #Braves' offseason could heat up at the Winter Meetings. I dove into the needs, some key targets, and more in my latest for the Marietta Daily Journal. I'll have more from Dallas next week! www.mdjonline.com/sports/atlan...

Heading to the Winter Meetings this weekend. I'll have plenty of #Braves talk, interviews, and anything else I can find from Dallas. Make sure you're subscribed to From The Diamond wherever you get your podcasts. And leave a review if you'd be so kind!

Well, it's Thanksgiving, which for many means gathering together, enjoying a great meal, and what not. For the #Braves, I'm already assuming it means announcing a transaction in the midst of going for seconds.

Chris Sale joined elite #Braves company with a long-awaited Cy Young Award in his 15th season. He believes winning it now is even more meaningful than it would've been during his top years in the American League. My latest for the Marietta Daily Journal: www.mdjonline.com/sports/atlan...

Former #Braves slugger Rico Carty has passed away. He was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame last year. He was 85 years old. RIP "Beeg Boy."

#Braves non-tenders: RHP Griffin Canning LHP Ray Kerr RHP Royber Salinas RHP Huascar Ynoa OF Ramón Laureano. Laureano was the only one of this group I thought they might stick with. All are now free agents.

Add RHP Griffin Canning (acquired from the Angels for Jorge Soler) to the #Braves' list of non-tender candidates. He's projected to make $5.1M next season per MLB Trade Rumors.

#Braves have decisions to make on the following ahead of the MLB Non-Tender deadline at 8 pm ET tonight. Player (Service) & Projected Salary Ramón Laureano (5.159): $6.1M Huascar Ynoa (3.117): $825K Jarred Kelenic (2.169): $2.3M Dylan Lee (2.150): $1.2 M Eli White (2.140): $800K

#Braves DH Marcell Ozuna finished 4th in the National League MVP race. Teammate and Cy Young winner Chris Sale finished 7th.

#Braves Cy Young Award Winners: Warren Spahn (1957) Tom Glavine (1991, 1998) Greg Madduz (1993, 1994, 1995) John Smoltz (1996) Chris Sale (2024) That's four Hall of Famers and another who could join them as Sale finally earns this honor.

#Braves Chris Sale won the 2024 National League Cy Young Award, the first such honor of his career. He did so with a Triple Crown season, pacing the NL with 18 wins, a 2.38 ERA, and 225 strikeouts. He's the first Atlanta pitcher to win the Cy Young since Hall of Famer Tom Glavine in 1998.

Chris Sale finished in the Top 5 in Cy Young voting 6 consecutive years from 2013-2018. He didn't receive a single vote in the past 5 years thanks to a litany of injuries. Now, at age 35, he should finally take home his first Cy Young Award in his first year with the #Braves.

Along with first-time eligible Brian McCann, former #Braves Andruw Jones and Billy Wagner are among the 28 players on the 2025 BBWAA Hall of Fame ballot. It's the 10th and final try for Wagner (73.8% last year). This is Jones' 8th year on the ballot. He finished with 61.6% in 2024.

@nd4668.bsky.social Happy Birthday!

Charlie Morton's curveball was the missing piece, and it was a pitch he had all along. Finally throwing it more at age 32 made him one of the better strikeout pitchers in baseball. From my latest #Braves piece for the Marietta Daily Journal.

Now a free agent, Charlie Morton seeks to add another chapter to a truly unique career. Two stints with the #Braves and everything in between has seen him become one of the most respected vets in the game. It just took time. My latest for the MDJ: www.mdjonline.com/sports/atlan...

From my upcoming article on #Braves Charlie Morton pitching in 2025 at age 41. We had this chat months ago, but the gears were clearly turning even then with respect to balancing career and family. I appreciated the candid revelation that he may have already retired if he'd been successful sooner.

Bluesky...
