The best day to add localization to your game is day 1. The second best day is today. Who let me write so many words in so many different places?

Modeling waist attachments has been something I've wanted to get better at for a while. I feel like I got the procedural secondary motion looking so nice it was a shame you could only see it on one goofy looking leg option.

Terrible news everyone. It turns out Big Cow holds the patent on boys so I will be unable to include them in my roguelite cow-builder Granboys. I'm thinking about replacing all the boys with giant robots with super model legs and triangle torsos. Thoughts?

I think it’s time to leave the mech genre behind. I’ll be re-theming the game to be about cowboys with cinched waists and orangutan arms. Please look forward to future updates to the roguelite cow-builder Granboys.

Grappling spider legs is a movement style that's been living in the back of my mind since I watched 86. Still needs a lot of refinement but I'm excited to cram this into a wrist cannon too.

Today I enjoyed the distinct pleasure of attaching a chainsaw to everything. Stray branches beware. What weapons would be better with a chainsaw blade?

Alright I couldn't resist adding one more beam weapon and of course its a lance. What sort of beam weapons would you want to see in future updates.

Its important to me that tier 4 increases the distinctiveness of its parts. I want tier 4 parts to be kings of their specialties or stacked with functionality. The t4 Belltower cannons will also boost your visibility range and the t4 Konbar rockets will track to where you look.

A player on the discord shared a cool mech model they saw online and all I needed was a gun torso to make a version of the build. I really liked how they put their tank turret on a long box to make it more torso like.

What tools would you want to see in a small sandbox mode? Of course you will be able to pick any part you've found before and run test missions.

If you were wondering how many giant beam cannons you can fire at once, the answer is six. Unfortunately, you can't do it for long because there quickly becomes nothing to fire at. Our top minds are working tirelessly to solve this dilemma.

I put together a full set to match the chest beam torso. He’s so pointy I think he has to be evil.

Don't think I could be stopped at just one beam weapon. Its only natural that mechs can fire lasers from the chest.

Yes Tier 4 will introduce beam weapons and yes they will be purple (the strongest color).

Would you still love me if I was a 600 meter long terraforming device repurposed for combat?

Updated the demo and playtest with some small melee tweaks. Attacking with melee weapons will apply a slow depending on the weapon’s size. It’s an overall power reduction of melee but helps differentiate the lances from the longswords.

There is a stunning lack of explosions large enough to hit 3 enemy mechs at once. Hopefully these can fill that void.

When I started Granvir I knew I needed to improve my modeling and mechanatomy skills. 2 years later and I’ve finally managed to make a version of the leg style I wanted to make when I started. Maybe in 2 more I can make a proper arm.

Curious about Granvir’s Co-Op? You can watch me and Granvir’s publisher @gigatank3000.bsky.social take on the first campaign together while chatting about important topics like the effectiveness of sombrero-mounted cannons. Link ⬇️

It's #TrailerTuesday and we're really pleased to announce our new publishing partnership with Airborne Games ( @granvir.bsky.social ) to bring Granvir their 3rd person co-op action roguelite mech-builder to your favorite storefronts! Check out the trailer and wishlist the game below. 👇

🎮Update 1.14.11 to the Granvir Demo and Playtest is live on Steam! A wave of tier 3 weapons arrive to round out your options for weapon types that only went up to tier 2. My favorite is the new drill lance design. Link below ⬇️

🎮 It took me a while to warm up to mech weapons so heavy they have a carry handle but I have no regrets. Looking to squeeze a few of these into the new tier 4 parts. Do you think they’re big enough?

🎮 Some of my favorite mech designs have these hip-mounted modules. I'm excited to be squeezing some legs using them into the new tier 4 parts. It took me way too long to find a decent camera angle with all the flash bits.

🎮 I've briefly escaped the mecha trenches to bring you this Development Update! If you're curious about what new content will be coming alongside Campaign 2, check out Granvir's latest Development Update on Steam. Link Below ⬇

I'm trapped in level building jail. Here are some overhead shots of some of the new missions in campaign 2. Every new one makes me feel like I need to remake an old one. #gamedev

Working on a coastline region and some urban assets for the second campaign. Don't mind the mechs going for a swim. #mech #mecha #gamedev #indiegame

Granvir 1.14.10 is live with a new set of tier 1 quad legs, normal and multiplayer difficulty adjustments and improved omni-directional movement animations for bipedal legs. Full notes on Steam: ⬇ #gamedev

Remember him? Well this is him now. (Remodeling the BR02 Reserve torso and adding back mount variants) #gamedev

Granvir 1.14.9 is live with a healthy helping of multiplayer fixes, improved attack animations for lances and better auto sorting when picking up loot. Full notes below ⬇️ #gamedev

Fleshing out the new mercenary pilot class. You'll get a stronger customizable starting loadout and higher bounty rewards but orbital supply drops will be scarce. #gamedev #mecha #indiegame #mech

Small update just went live to show cargo held in your mech's hand slots, drop an extra supply pod for each player in multiplayer and fix a batch of pesky bugs. #gamedev #mech #mecha #indiegame

Granvir Demo and Multiplayer Playtest version 1.14.7 is live with back holsters, module pods and more! Full patch notes over on Steam: store.steampowered.com/news/app/274... #gamedev

Working on some camera effects to make fast feel fast. FOV punches out and the camera lags behind when you start a dash. If piloting a mech induces motion sickness the effects can be dialed down and disabled. #gamedev

Who needs an extended mag when you can have an extended arsenal? Behold: the double-double holster build. Keep an eye out for an update to the demo this weekend (I hope). #gamedev

Perpetuating the back mount supremacy with a new part that allows you to install more special modules. Here's me zooming on one of the slower legs stacking triple T3 gyrostabilizers. #gamedev

If you are wondering why holsters aren't available yet its because this build's ammo management is incredibly annoying #gamedev

Really happy with how the holsters are coming together. A giant robot's armaments should not be held back by its number hands. #gamedev

The desire to add shoulder holsters has been burning a hole in my brain for 3 months. Still some kinks to work out but I'm excited to open up more options for two-handed weapon enjoyers. #gamedev #mecha

Here's a preview of what major features you can expect in Granvir's full release. I have unfortunately had to bump the release window due to personal busyness. In the mean time, the demo will remain available and you can register for the multiplayer playtest on Steam! #gamedev

I've finally got a nice enough bow on the multiplayer to do a regular demo update. Version 0.14.0 is live on Steam with tons of UI improvements and small gameplay tweaks. Let me know how you like it and look forward to the upcoming multiplayer playtest! #gamedev

At long last, the bugless multiplayer run has been completed. Looking forward to setting up a Steam playtest for everyone to experience all the ones I missed #gamedev #mecha

Its moments like these during testing that I remember why I'm spending all this time adding multiplayer. #gamedev #mecha
