idk man i went to a state school and my time there involved a lot of physics and quizbowl. that seems fine actually, i don't think i need to prove anything to anyone

I don't care if I'm "doing ageism". my dad is too old to drive and if you're 80+ you're too old to be in politics, even if you're generally robust for your age like Bernie

so what's the solution here? keep pumping up a fake currency so that the crash of the bubble immiserates all of these people even more? you have to blow up this industry like yesterday but no one wanted to do that so here we are

look, let's not make it any more complicated than it needs to be: mark cuban has a bunch of money invested in crypto and he needs number to go up, or alternately, greater fools to whom he can hand the bag

I think I posted this on the other site but it bears reprising: the liberal project is, in many ways, a project about the constant creation and recreation of the self (laudatory). a liberal society is in many ways a society that affords you the legal and material ability to do that as you please

amazing opportunity for a group of enterprising colonels

what the fuck are you talking about man

collaborators, in other words

be afraid of the old/they'll inherit your soul

I stand ready to saddle my horse (bike) and ride across the plains in the army of the Great Khan

basically i think the last paragraph here sums up the root of the problem and why even understood on its own terms this isn't going to revolutionize policymaking or whatever. but ABUNDANCE sells much better than "marginal improvements in urban land use policy"

abundance guys don't want any of that because ultimately they are opposed to the kind of politics that would unleash. they want the existing political structures with some dereg sugaring on top
