We have books! The first proofs of Jón Atli Jónasson's English-language debut Broken have dropped in... This one's a bit of a beast, out in June, published by @corylusbooks.bsky.social www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DVZFZ6Y7

The Government is siding with big tech over British creativity. Today is the FINAL chance to respond to their consultation on AI and copyright. Let's make sure creators' voices are heard. Guidance below 👇 #MakeItFair #PayTheCreator www.alcs.co.uk/news/your-ri...

Aberdeen this weekend for the excellent Granite Noir and the Lost in Translation panel with Teresa Solana and Ørjan Karlsson, in the expert hands of Jacky Collins – Dr Noir in person. www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/.../granite-... We'll be at the Lemon Tree on Sunday afternoon...

Is spirit of Þórdís the Sorceress messing with the weather from some vantage point up there on the mountain...?

Welcome to the third Stella novel in our fold! Murder Tide will be out in July. Catch up on the first two in the series before then www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CFZM2BR3

Without wanting to jinx anything... This is not normal for February up here in the north.

Another helping of Stella Blómkvist is on the way! How come Grímúlfur Halldórsson found himself tied and gagged, left to drown by the rising tide? Murder, revenge, betrayal – and the unexpected. amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DWBRKHTR This one's published in July, available now for pre-order...

Guardian on sparkling form this morning marking five years of Brexit, the most idiotic act this country has entered into in my lifetime.

This one's coming in the summer, a beast of a book and great to work on. I hadn't read any of Jón Atli's work before. But it turned out that I'd read most of his father's books years ago – some of the first I read in Icelandic all those years ago. Didn't make the connection until we finally met...

This is interesting. There's nothing unusual about amber weather warnings up here. But a warning for the whole country doesn't come along every day. Yes, it's a bit breezy.

Very excited to present first book in English by a new author from Iceland - Jón Atli Jónasson's Broken is now available for pre-order www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DVZFZ6Y7/

For a bit of escapism from news and the weather, check out our longest-running and very popular crime series from Iceland written by Solveig Palsdottir www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...

It doesn't mean what the casual observer might imagine it does.

Translating some true crime has been an experience, and a first for me. It's a memoir by reformed and recovering drug dealer and smuggler Ívar Örn Katrínarson. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DVQ77RJS Party to Death is thought-provoking stuff, delivered in a remarkably candid narrative, nothing held back.

Yeah, it really sucks when other people steal your work, doesn’t it?

BBC political analysis is reaching a nadir. Superficial, persistently adopting far right framing, utterly without insight. Just properly piss-poor. The fact that someone with a working brain could write this piece without seeking medical attention is astonishing.

What a week to have a book out about political corruption and powerful, abusive men! At least in my novel they get their comeuppance. My first Anna Sharpe thriller. Out today in all formats in the UK, and in eBook and audio in the US. #NotesOnADrowning annamazzola.com/notes-on-a-d...

This might be my first 5* review on @crimefictionlover.bsky.social of a book I translated, so forgive me while I go and have a little emotional weep in the corner 😭😭🥺 crimefictionlover.com/2025/01/nigh...

Once more with feeling and a dollop of frustration … Taking our work without permission or payment is theft. thttps://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/jan/14/british-novelists-criticise-government-over-ai-theft#img-1
