Mark the anniversary march for #Ukraine in London on Saturday 22nd February. If I see you there I will buy you a coffee! ukrainesolidaritycampaign.org/2025/01/21/d...

"Becoming an extra special government advisor Trumpy-DOGE had my fuzzle-brain buzzing up to this first line, but it's only mainlined horse tranqs that truly get me this high" (F-Elon)

A class 710 Overground train that I brought in to Barking Riverside. The changeable weather and empty platform suited the choice of black and white for this phone shot. #b&wphotography #overgroundtrain #suffragetteline

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025... The new refrain is "free speech" when in fact it's hate speech. They are looking across the pond for enablement and alarmingly it has some traction. We need a more radical alternative. Labour has been too equivocal. Where are we as a society? Years backwards

A turn of the page, a cue to nature - the winter solstice #wintersolstice

Macron swears amid furious exchange with cyclone-hit Mayotte islanders www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d... Wow. Just wow. Colonial attitudes being perpetuated and doubled down on by Macron. Incredible arrogance and insensitivity.

www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d... Just weeks after COP29 the stark reality is that developed nations owe a huge debt of aid and finance. That however is nothing to what we need to do to help stop climate change. We need to consider how our lifestyles are propped up by the misery of others and act.

Dense juvenile trees in Epping Forest. With leaf fall comes an awareness of the depth of the place. A feeling of enclosure but distance all at once. It's easier to spot the wild deer which we did a few times today. #eppingforest #leaffall #autumn #trees #forestwalks #naturephotography

Now this is damned fine thing...

Industrial farming is choking our planet . Yet at a time when we should be supporting farmers to invest in restoring nature and transitioning away from destructive animal ag , the news that government have slashed wildlife-friendly budgets even further is just plain insanity . #Peston

Another one taken from the rear cab of a moving train on my phone camera as we crossed a bridge. There had been rain and the road markings gleamed. On an otherwise empty street the couple just happened to be walking through a pool of light. #b&wphotography #streetlife #fromamovingtrain

The #gardenwriters starter pack is growing - it's for writers who garden peat free, organically and explore regenerative or progressive ideas - if I've missed someone off, it is not intentional! So many people are joining BlueSky, it's hard to keep up go.bsky.app/EkQPu7p

Sometimes a grey, damp day can look quite beautiful. A squint of the eye is sometimes just enough to see through the murk and the mist. Enjoy your day wherever you are...

And this just arrived from the fantastic people @seagullbooks.bsky.social - nearly 40 years of stuff I've written for Tribune, The Guardian, New Humanist, British Journalism Review, even The Daily bloody Telegraph! Plus loads of top toons! Out 1st December - buy copies for everyone you've ever met!

My training driving career just has a few short months left. I won't miss the crazy early starts but the views I've sometimes had from the cab have been extraordinary. Alas, I can't take photo's from there but I get to travel rear cab home sometimes and my unwind times have been special.

Autumn in the forest. Restorative tranquility

I gave up on toxic X (then twitter) 3 years ago. The only blue bird I've engaged with since was this fledged blue tit last spring. I placed it safely away from cats and its parent soon came to feed it. Every living thing needs a safe place right?
