Some days, you will face a choice between (a) a careful, listening leader & (b) the kind of guy who sees a "decisive" leader on TV who jabs a finger, saying, "I don't care, make it happen," and that's his entire MBA. If you pick (b), you may deserve what you get, but those around you don’t.

Incompetence only goes so far to explain the character of these errors. You only make those kinds of errors if you truly don't give a damn about the outcomes, and the only check on your behavior is the possibility that someone will be so angry that they'll look up where you live.

I respect Mr. Cuban on other topics, but this argument grossly misunderstands how expertise works. Background knowledge is crucial to critical thinking. For instance, without background knowledge, you will pursue foolish questions, train AI badly, and have zero basis for evaluating output.

Why do so few people read these days? Why do they struggle to understand? Why do they struggle so much with writing that they need AI? Because we taught them to hate reading. We decided reading wasn't good for kids unless it felt like math homework. And that's what they learned.
