Matchday! Sanfrecce first home outing of the J.League season as they host Yokohama F-Marinos. It's streamed on J.League's international YouTube channel for those outside of Japan. Let's go for the 3 points! 🏹

Gamba Osaka say midfielder Kota Yamada has withdrawn from the team for the time being after admitting to using his social media accounts to harass someone. His Instagram and Twitter have been deleted and his merch is not available on the team's shop.

#Albirex is also in danger early on. The team seems poorly organized and unable to control the field. They did get some good shots this game. #spulse looks great, repeating the same overwhelm-the-left strategy. Sumiyoshi Jelani also doing a great job keeping the ball away from the goal.

Also, everyone watch #spulse and #shonan. We have a couple of dark horses that are already shaking up things. On the flip side, #urawa is looking to be a flop of a season once you look at how much they paid for Santana, Savio, and the other big grabs. Expect disappointment

#Zelvia shows up with precision strikes and crosses, and ends up becoming successful in one of them. #fctokyo did put up a fight, but still has issues closing in and finishing the job. It’s worth noting that Machida’s defense is pretty solid, so the few chances Gas had were mostly from the back.

#Verdy deserves to be booed at the walk of shame. The overly-cautious offense is back on the menu. Meanwhile, #kashima ‘s Cerara and UMA give Verdy an atomic wedgie and take their lunch money.

Welp, that sucked

Did you know this team is owned by Red Bull? To help you remember, we’ve added more Red Bulls, you know, just like our logo and name

I sent my representative an email suggesting that the Kokuritsu stadium should be reserved for weekly gladiatorial death matches and that the profits can cover the costs for the building after a year. I haven't heard back from them yet.

Verdy coach Jofuku "I had prepared in a way that would make this match as special as possible for our opponents, and that we could surpass them, but the fact that the game ended up being played within Shimizu's story is really disappointing. I think it's because of my lack of preparation."

I am trying to build a JLeague network on BlueSky, please come and follow and let me add you to the list! bsky.app/profile/did:...

On a special note, saw highlights for Tochigi-Kochi. Kochi United is a very entertaining team to watch; keep an eye on them this season. They lost this game, but damn, they tried

Stats would suggest Zelvia was outclassed in every way; that would be 50% true. Tolgay is a beast, and Zelvia’s surgical strike soccer is hard to see on paper. Germain Ryo put up a good show as well. My lawyer advises me to refrain from mentioning Zelvia’s 22 alleged fouls.

Stats say it all. Shimizu swarms the left side, delivers to the middle for a straight shot. Quite predictable. Verdy’s 6 shots and 400+ passes show their excessive hesitation at the attack. Verdy needs to trust in their defense and take more chances at the shot. That or a good MF mid-season.

Both Verdy and S-Pulse showed unimpressive performances at the season opener; a golden opening gave Shimizu the edge this time 0-1. Verdy realizes key players are missing, and Shimizu was really predictable in attack. On the other hand, S-Pulse has some tough Brazilians. Oh well, on to Zelvia

From the first half Verdy has a MF problem which leads to a lot of non-existent attacks. They try to cover the entire field but are stretching themselves out too thin with little pressure from anywhere. But, boy do they try; Verdy grit is not dead. Despite the score, Verdy has a solid defense.

Back from the pep rally and ready for some soccer. Come on, Verdy!

キターーー

4 minutes for Kumamoto rally back. Can this be 劇場?

Roasso is both fighting for thier life and broken. I have never seen such a team fight so hard and make terrible mistakes. This has become a circus and we are just waiting for Nagasaki’s next goal

HOLY SHIT NAGASAKI!!!!!!!

Tell your kids about a 3rd-ranked J1 Fagiano

Kawasaki-Nagoya Highlights youtu.be/i0GW0Vnr9Yc?...

FC Gas has their veterans and fogeys out starting today. Seem quite confident about today's match vs YFC. Looking forward to see Marcelo adapt to teamwork

Gamba-Cerezo Highlights

What a statement by Cerezo Osaka in the Osaka derby. They were dominant for large parts, played some beautiful free-flowing football under new manager Arthur Papas. Sota Kitano was outstanding throughout, but it's hard to pick out just one. Life after Ceara has started well for the boys in pink.

A performance-based pyramid for sports in America? I’m in!

Sunday is looking good Come on, Verdy!
