Now I'm awake to the world. I was asleep before. That's how we let it happen. When they slaughtered Congress, we didn't wake up. WHEN they blamed terrorists and suspended the constitution, we didn't wake up then, either. Nothing changes instantaneously. Margaret Atwood Handmaids’ Tale

If you want to know why people are so deeply deeply invested in the current whackadoodle administration, just watch NewsMax for a few days. While the medicine and science are under attack, the spin doctors are reaching great heights in their surgery on the Truth. Truthectomy.

I met Mallory McMorrow (in person) today and I have to tell you, she’s a fantastic kind of real human. Very approachable, genuine, and serious about the job she does for her constituents. Just felt I needed to say so. I’m so happy she’s fighting for all of us.

This admin is turning on the firehose hoping you’ll burn out and give up. But you don’t have to do it all. Do one thing, take one step each day. Put your phone down. Take a walk. Find the thing that moves you and focus. If we all find our one thing, we’ll build something better—together.

Take our quiz to find out which one of our nine political typology groups is your best match. If you haven’t, do. It’s a bit eye opening to know where I align and how my positions counter and concur with gen pop.

I'm not going to stop saying this. We need to stop calling it "deporting." It may not always be fair or humane, but deportation has a process. And it means you're sent back to where you came from. These people are being trafficked and sold to slave prisons. Not deported.

Trump’s own voters are turning on him.

For those that have seen our hats. This goes back to 1988. Avid Sesame Street fans here. youtu.be/5FeyDm4vrFo?...

@maddow.msnbc.com At Trump’s response, I need to speak for introverts, in-betweens, the recovering Right, and those with so much to lose in being public about their outrage (immediate risks from jobs to young families to local retaliation). We HAD to know why we were there. Lives depend on it.

I made a decision this week. I’m leaving our small business and going back to assist in the schools. Hired. My hope is teach kindness by example there. I don’t know how effective that will be in turning this country around but at least I will be there to comfort them when their country falls.

Why do I have a “Christmas”Tree up year round? Don’t be small minded. It’s a tree. Natural or manufactured, it’s a houseplant with the ability to hold things we hang on it. Mine doesn’t die so why would I hide it in the attic for all but 2 of 12 months? It clearly likes to play dress up.

Get the f*** out of here with your sensitivity to Racists and homophobes. Is our world really so broken that public administrators are insensitively insisting that educators (and public at large) be sensitive to insensitive people who insist on being hateful and hurtful? We are in hell.

Unless the king says otherwise

The holiday tree says “Hello” as we head into the season of Lent. (Mardi Gras and Saint Patty’s Day represented here) For all those that partake in king cakes next week, “Do not eat the baby” and enjoy your giant cinnamon roll.

Did you know that AquaFaba makes a really lovely Meringue? Things you discover when you avoid social media but commit to cooking with Rachel Maddow in your ears.

I keep forgetting I have Bluesky. I killed my personal accounts on the MetaVerse right be inauguration of hell. Never had twitter. TikTok is that the addiction I’m successfully avoiding. I have so much time offline that I have new hobbies. Weird that I’ve chosen to come here to announce that.
