If you are going to the library to borrow a book, you might think "Oh, yes, I should take my library card". So many people do not. (Petty whinge about things).

First 6kg of 22kg strawberries in the pot for jam.

In amongst all the 💩 going on, I had to put my cat to sleep today. She had cancer.

Finished off the Comillas dress from #ItchToStitch. This was the full bust bodice and size 20, reasonably happy with the fit. The cotton fabric is so nice in the summer heat.

Many moons ago I did this #StumpworkEmbroidery. Today I finally framed it.

Reading about plane crashes when husband has to go to Trumpistan for work is not helping my cortisol levels.

Unexpected fren in my car. He startled me by emerging on the dashboard next to the steering wheel. #skink

Cinnamon brioche

Setting up to make some candles and my 'helper' comes along.

I'm trying Storygraph as an alternative to GR so if anyone wants to connect with me there, my username is the same as the first bit of my bsky handle.

An excellent guide to submit on the puberty blocker consultation. Did mine with 30 mins to spare!! insideout.org.nz/submission-g...

The power has been off all day, destroying my plans for my day off. So making like a cat and dozing in the sun.

Yay! Three patterns for $25 from Spotty, actually less because VIP discount. Looking forward to making these up.

Normalize deleting your porn tabs before handing your phone to a librarian for help to print.

Day for it.

What a load of crock this article is. Please note: I don't earn that much and there is stress ranging from dealing with raging abusive bigots to knife wielding idiots. www.stuff.co.nz/money/360541...

Is there anything more childish than a 50 year old yte man saying "I'm 50 years old I'm not a child" when asked to take care of a massive e-scooter propped up precariously against a chair in the Large Print area? Who won't lock it up outside.

Found some pre-shirred fabric from a big-name store so made myself a sundress for the beach days I hope will be in my future!! #AotearoaCraft #sewing

Finished my #Ladera dress from #ItchToStitch using the Cat Garden print from Tara Reed. #Sewing #AotearoaCraft

My gingerbread guy is looking a bit worse for wear, maybe he's been on the dak.

Well my plans to cut out the Ladera dress have been foiled.

Mildly delighted that we aren't going up north to the ILs this weekend after all. Craft weekend FTW!

Working till 6pm, then have to make a cheesecake for tomorrow. Hope everyone on leave is enjoying their day [said through gritted teeth]

Proffered some cat nip I'm growing to Kimiko, who miaowed and ran away. "Do not tempt me with drugs, Mother!"

Not only that, but if the focus is on "fixing the pipes, maintaining footpaths, and addressing graffiti", things like libraries and other social good services will die. Even boring things like consents and licensing which hopefully keep people safe could be impacted.

"If you don't have the literacy skills you also don't have the thinking skills". One student when asked how better reading skills would help, said: 'I'd be able to join in conversations'. I was a literacy tutor back in the '90s.. very different time. #literacy #reading #NewZealand

Feeling whingy and grumpy, can't have a holiday until end of Feb and everything I'm keen on is booked out, have to do recruiting AGAIN for the 50 millionth time and the mental load for this time of year is overwhelming me.

I've learned there is an ice breaker activity at Thursday's people leader hui.
