@iaindale.bsky.social iain, for your program tonight... The government soend £15.6 B each year on housing benefit. This will most go to private landlords. Why not tax the landlords heavily to get some of that returned? Some will leave sector but may in turn reduce prices which may reduce rentals.

(2) Those companies would then start to rethink their allegiances plus the benefit is that you would be spending with more local companies that do pay their taxes in your country. Easy if we just think seriously about it.

All of the western world/democracies, should boycott any company tickling Trumps #$%^&@, or those that do not pay their proper taxes in the country where the spend takes place. i.e. Costa, Starbucks, Amazon etc... (1)

These to pay taxes in the country where the business takes place. That would force them to pressurise the US government and the GOP, to change tac.

We now have Bluesky to rival Twatter. Could EU,UK, Canada, Aus, NZ and anyone else that has the future of the world in their forethought, set up rivals Amazon... and anyone else running a international business that is sucking up to Twump.
