Yikes.

If you’re cheering for a South African sociopath to fuck over US military veterans then you should probably stop with that America first bullshit.

Consider how much of a problem you have being online and then ask yourself how often you’ve actually done this

Did he send them to Democratic Members of Congress? Because I'd kind of like to read those.

New, from me @theatlantic.com: *No, the federal government is not too big *It has real human capital needs *Firings are indiscriminate, weakening state capacity *Creating a toxic and politicized workplace is driving away dedicated employees www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Sending an email to employees asking them to list five things they did that week is a classic move from a manager who has no idea how to manage

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized. The ADL literally had ONE JOB.

Remember back when this sort of thing would have been a big story? You know, like back during the Biden administration when government was functional and boring.

Remember, Russell Vought said he wanted to "traumatize" federal civil servants.

Where are the Democrats but also Where are the churches Where are the celebrities Where are the NGOs Where are the Universities Where are professional groups like AMA Where are the athletes Where are the unions What people/groups do and don’t do for next month determines our collective future

In modern history, what is the least popular that party leaders have ever been to their OWN voters? Second place was the GOP in 2009, where their net approval with Republican voters was only +6. Currently Dems are -8, shattering all previous records.

Having been down this road with performance reviews before, there will be classified information sent. Like oodles of it.

Now that Trump has ousted Brown, and the heads of the Navy and Coast Guard, the remaining top military leaders are all white and male, particularly striking given that minorities make up nearly 40 percent of the military and women constitute fully a fifth. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/king-donal...

so then it's not a cost-cutting team, is it

New polling from Leger suggests only 30% of Canadians view the US as an ally, with a near-similar share viewing our neighbours to the south as an enemy nation I break it down here 👇 open.substack.com/pub/canadian...

Or deployed

Watching a bunch of dumb fucking Americans get slowly convinced to do the Hitler salute would be hilarious in a dark political comedy written by Armando Ianucci but here in real life it is equal parts infuriating and terrifying

On the one side, I do not love being a Jew in a country now ruled by explicit Nazis. On the other hand, this is all amazing ad footage for the Dems in 2026.

I wrote angry about the purging of the US military. saideman.blogspot.com/2025/02/why-...

they're back.

People yelling at Elon Musk at 33rd & M NW Georgetown. This is the way.

ROME (AP) — Vatican says Pope Francis in critical condition, suffered a long asthmatic respiratory crisis in the morning.

"What is built on the basis of force, and not on the truth about the equal dignity of every human being, begins badly and will end badly." - the Pope (calling out JD Vance)

None of this has anything to do with effectiveness, or “lethality,” or promoting “warfighters," or any other buzzwords. It is praetorianism, plain and simple, and it is an assault on our military and our democracy. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Of the Chiefs of Staff, vice chiefs of staff, and judge advocates general of the three branches, Trump fired all the women and Black people.

"The crowd again started shouting 'tax Elon,' 'tax the wealthy,” “tax the rich' and 'tax the billionaires.'" The county went 68% for Trump www.lagrandeobserver.com/news/local/r...

JFC. He fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. (The same guy, btw, who he made USAF Chief bc of his warfighter sensibilities)

Yeah, these federal workers actually understand what they do for us and how devastating these cuts are for us. It'd be great if the media could explain that clearly instead of taking Elon Musk's word that he's magically produced "savings" that come with no downside.

"The 3,000 agents Turner fired, each and every one of them first or second generation Americans. Is that because they lacked diplomatic skills, or did Turner not think it was a good idea to have spies who could speak the same language as the people they're fuckin' spying on?"

Looks like Trump has fired Gen CQ Brown, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

This should be a huge red flag to countries other than just Ukraine. Predatory weaponization of interdependence is something the US can probably exploit in the short term but the rest of the world will, rightfully, avoid American solutions if that's our modus operandi

the Pedophile party would like to inspect your genitals

#BREAKING France far-right leader Bardella says cancels US speech after ex-Trump aide Bannon makes "gesture alluding to Nazi ideology"

Attacking the permanent Deep State by firing the folks people hired in the last year.

Two comments here: 1. The French broadcast is excellent. 2. I LOVE that the Spanish broadcast calls it like a soccer game.

YESSSSSSSSSSS

Go Canada Go.

In addition to Congress being the place that makes the laws, pretty key thing, the constitution explicitly says Congress gets to create the postal system. It’s not left implied that that comes under law making generally. The President has no power to unilaterally abolish it and move it to commerce.
