I’m in my late 50’s. During my adult lifetime, there was only one period I had to line up to get into a grocery store. One time when I didn’t know if toilet paper would be in stock. Or cheese. That was during the Trump Administration. And I think it might be coming again.

Your child should get by with fewer dolls. But god forbid we ask billionaires to give up anything.

Made this my phone wallpaper. From the Swann Memorial Fountain in Philadelphia, a figure representing the Schuylkill River.

The Swan Fountain in Philadelphia

My experience in Philly: Talking to someone from out of town: go to these places that are an hour from each other. Talking to a local: I go to these 3 places that are within a block of each other and nowhere else.

Coal is a dying fuel. Coal plants are being decommissioned at record pace. Industry is moving on, trying to bring it back is madness. Natural gas is a transitional fuel to get us to the next level. The next level is cheap, renewable sources such as Solar and Wind energy. Invest now or die.

To be “woke” is to be aware of the injustices in society. Of course a group that benefits from, and wants to perpetuate, those injustices wants to demonize “wokeness”.

If the government can put people on a plane to a foreign country with no due process and no way to undo it, it can happen to anyone. Police make mistakes. They raid incorrect addresses. They arrest the wrong guy. That’s what due process is for… to correct those mistakes.

It is really bothering me (understatement) that the message is “bring back that one innocent guy” and not “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK SHUT DOWN THIS WHOLE OPERATION IMMEDIATELY.”

Congress needs to pass a law that American citizens cannot be deported, and American citizens convicted of crimes cannot be sent to prisons in other countries. An American citizen should never be considered to be beyond the reach the American justice system.

Those “militias” that were training for the day they had to violently oppose a “tyrannical government” are really letting us down.

Now that the utter incompetence of this cabinet is on display, we can see why they hated DEI and affirmative action so much. They're the ones who can't compete when there are accountability structures to give qualified BIPOC and women a chance.

Return Abrego Garcia.

I just saw a political analyst say that Trump’s power is empathy. Wrong. Trump’s power is the ability to discern what the people in front of him want to hear, and to say it shamelessly. It might look like empathy. But it’s pathological. He knows what you want, he’ll say it, but he doesn’t mean it.

Republicans courted votes by saying they were going to stick it to “the elites”. Then the uneducated realized the could really stick it to the elites by electing people like themselves. And we’re about to reap the rewards of being governed by people who denigrate education.

People think that Republicans are good on the economy because rich people vote Republican. They must know about money, right? But getting rich isn’t the same as knowing how to make the economy work for everyone. This administration is showing that Republicans have no idea how to manage the economy.

At what point do the Republicans that fear opposing Trump start fearing the consequences of NOT opposing Trump?

I expected that Trump’s re-election would mean a recession. But I didn’t expect him to do it in his first hundred days.

What do you think of the Republicans’ handling of the economy?

Is Trump getting advice from someone who shorted the stock market?

Seizing people and shipping them to a foreign prison without charges or a hearing is not "law and order." It's the opposite of that. It's what a dictatorship looks like.

Those “militias” that were training for the day they had to violently oppose a “tyrannical government” are really letting us down.

Defense Dept. officials are arguing they didn’t share “war” plans. And it wasn’t “classified”. They are arguing semantics and technicalities in order to escape accountability. It was their first instinct. This is what happens when you elect grifters and felons instead of honorable men.

I am an American. And I will not support taking Greenland, the Panama Canal, or any part of Canada by force. This administration needs to stop threatening such things.

The next President of the United States will have a lot of work to do rebuilding this country.

Dear NFL, Don’t ban the Tush Push.

Elon Musk isn’t a genius. He’s a slick talker who turned a lot of money into a fuck-ton of money. That doesn’t make him an expert on everything. And he clearly doesn’t know how our government works.

I’m tired of hearing that we the people need to resist and protest. I already have a job. Our representatives have jobs.. to represent us. If they’re gonna roll over, what is me standing on a corner in Lancaster, PA gonna do?

Musicians, I want to support you. I do. But I went digital years ago. I’m not interested in your exclusive 30-gram splatter swirl translucent vinyl. How about some merch for people like me?

I never excepted how much time I would spend this year contemplating, “If the U.S. goes to war with Canada, which side would I be on?”

I get Schumer’s point. I get it, but I hate it. If the government shuts down, Trump could just… not reopen it. Or just reopen the parts he likes. I hate it.

Humans can be very smart in one area, and still not know about others. Everyone gets that. But if the thing you are good at is making money, people will assume you’re a genius. It’s not true. You can be very smart about accumulating wealth and still not know anything about how the government works.

I didn’t vote for Trump. But I wonder if those who did because of all the things he was going to fix on “day 1” thought they were voting for an economic “transition” that would raise prices and tank their 401Ks?

Adding a work requirement to social programs, while not requiring employers to pay a living wage, is a scheme keep the lower class enslaved to make money for the rich.
