Early morning light catching the the summit of Pike o' Stickle and the south scree gully in late autumn 2024 on a shoot up to Great End from the Langdale Valley (Fujifilm X-T3). #pikeofstickle #wainwrights #cumbria #hiking #lakedistrict #fujifilm #landscape

Moody morning light over Buttermere, High Crag, and Haystacks earlier in the week meant the world looked better in monochrome. Not the weather that was promised (when is it ever?), but nice to be there for first light #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights #hiking #buttermere #fells #landscape

Few more images today from the Slovenia Alps back in August. Such a fantastic week in the mountains from our little base in Mojstrana. Given that I had been on crutches 20 days before heading out due to a fell running injury, I was utterly stoked to enjoy this setting - albeit it pretty slowly!

Morning light catching Catbells yesterday around 8:30am up on Castle Head. Was trying to decide on a summit shot yesterday morning or the portrait of the fell - being a little late out of the house the portrait shot won and came out quite well. #lakedistrict #cumbria #hiking #wainwrights #nikon

A view that is so familiar to me that I often take it for granted - the higher peaks that form part of the Fairfield Horseshoe (Great Rigg, Fairfield, and Hart Crag). I often use this route as my fell running round each week but had to grab a shot of this back in the summer given how moody it looked

Moody view of Cofa Pike that connects Fairfield and St. Sunday Crag in the eastern fells of the Lake District. One of my favourite spots in this wonderful little national park that I get to call home! 🎉 #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #hiking #landscapephotography #mountains #wainwrights #adventure

Moody morning at Goat Water on Saturday morning shooting Dow Crag for the upcoming book. As always, doesn't matter what time you leave, you're always 10 mins too late to catch the good light. But the murky nature of the fell kinda came through here...sort of. . . #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights

Early morning light on the Old Man of Coniston back on a quick blast up in early November. #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #hiking #wainwrights

Not quite the sign you expect to see in the fells of the Lake District - wandered past this with some sense of confusion back in the summer on a shoot around the fells of Mardale Head. This shot is looking down from the path up to High Raise from Wether Hill in the far eastern fells. #lakedistrict

One of those magical moments from a few years back now - shooting on Hallin Fell, with my focus on Ullswater and the fells beyond. Just as I was getting ready to pack things away for the evening I turned around to this sight. I so often forget to look behind! #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights

Looking to Great End in early autumn from the summit of Green Gable - one of those odd afternoon's out when I saw zero other people on the fells. Esk Pike making an appearance in background, which is nice. #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #wainwrights #hiking #landscape #photography #omsystem #om5

Moody skies over Stybarrow Dodd and the Helvellyn range of fells in early summer 2023 on a hike from Threlkeld to Ambleside on a dry but windy day (Nikon Z6 + 40mm f/2). #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #wainwrights #hiking #landscape #photography #nikon

A view today from the far eastern fells of the Lake District, with a bit of a panorama of Angletarn. Not the greatest conditions for shooting - light wasn't being terribly cooperative. But certainly a tranquil spot to spend some time. #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights #landscape #photography

Yewbarrow at dawn back in December standing high above Wastwater. Shot from Illgill Head in rather nippy conditions. #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #wainwrights #hiking #landscape #photography

Looking to Skiddaw Little Man and Skiddaw from Clough Head back in January 2024. Lots of tiny figures making their way up along the path from Keswick and Latrigg in the morning sun. #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #wainwrights #hiking #adventure #omsystem

Two hikers stopping for a quick snap up on Grisedale Pike in mid-summer 2024. Somehow these fells around Newlands always seem to have pretty dry paths, no matter the weather. Certainly on of my favourite spots in the Lakes. #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights #hiking #adventure

Moody view in winter, looking to Side Pike and the Langdale Pikes from Lingmoor Fell. But nippy but certainly worth it! #lakedistrict #cumbria #hiking #nikon

Good morning all, an image this morning from St. Sunday Crag in the eastern fells of the Lake District, looking up towards Cofa Pike and Fairfield beyond. Always a great hike or run along this ridge way. #lakedistrict #cumbria #hiking #wainwrights #mountains #outdoors #fells

Gentle dusk light up in the central fells of the Lake District in late summer, heading to Sergeant Man before packing the camera away and running back down to the Langdale Valley for a wee stop at the Old Dungeon Ghyll. #lakedistrict #cumbria #fells #hiking #fellrunning #wainwrights #summervibes

Morning light catching Atkinson Monument up on Caudale Moor. Early start from the Kirkstone pass to collect some images I needed of this part of the Lake District. Red Screes sits in the distance with Windermere covered in low cloud. #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwights #hiking #landscape #photography

Looking to Pike o' Blisco and the Langdale Pikes from Grey Friar on a shoot at dusk back in late September from Coniston. A quick blast from Coniston to catch the fading light, before returning in the dark was certainly worth it. Looking forward to a little more light as we head towards February now

No snowy photo today, but one of my favourite spots in the Lakes nonetheless - looking onto Gimmer Crag as it towers over the Langdale Valley below. Spot a couple of trad climbers if you can, on a route called The Crack (VS/4C). What a place! #lakedistrict #cumbria #langdale #rockclimbing #fells

Back to winter fells today, rather than street photography from yesterday. Here we are on Clough Head looking south from the summit marker to Great Dodd beyond on a shoot back in January of last year. Fingers crossed the snow returns sometime soon here in Cumbria! #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights

Something rather different for today (relative to my usual mountain images) - a few shots from one of my favourite cities for street photography, the Austrian capital of Vienna. Love this place, and to be honest, I'd happily spend a lifetime capturing the wonders of the city if I lived there.

Moody light here as the light fades on the summit of Dove Crag due to the stormy weather moving in from the west. Blissful morning on the eastern fells of the Lake District, but needed a pretty early start to catch the good light. #lakedistrict #cumbria #hiking #nikon #wainwrights #winter

Today's image: a close up of one of the most iconic peaks in the Lake District. The wonderful fell of Harrison Stickle which dominates the skyline on the drive into Langdale from Elterwater. #lakedistrict #cumbria #hiking #mountains #winter #wainwrights #adventure #hiking #omsystem

Shot from earlier today on a quick blast up to Low Pike, High Pike, and Dove Crag from Ambleside. The morning light was stunningly nice until around 11am, after which the heavy cloud set in. #lakedistrict #cumbria #wainwrights #fells #hiking #winter #adventure

Image today from Blencathra, with my long-suffering partner in all crimes here looking toasty warm on the summit of Blencathra. #lakedistrict #cumbria #mountains #winter #wainwrights #hiking #adveture #omsystem

A pretty fantastic outing on Blencathra and Halls Fell yesterday with just the best conditions I could hope for in Cumbria. A tad nippy up on the summit with -17, but a great day up there. Two hikers here in the image making their way along Halls Fell. #hiking #adventure #cumbria #lakedistrict

Fine morning light today over the wonderful alpine setting of Dollywagon Pike, towering over Patterdale Common here in the Lake District.

Dusk light in mid-summer catching the upper crags of Helvellyn with Striding Edge also standing out.

Two hikers arriving at the summit of Rossett Pike in autumn at dusk. #lakedistrict #cumbria #langdale #wainwrights #hiking

Certainly one of my favourite shots taken in these closing weeks of 2024 - shot of Grasmore towering about Crummock fell in late November sunshine here in the Lake District. #lakedistrict #cumbria #hikingphotography #wainwrights #hikethelakes #nikon

Maybe my favourite sunrise of the year in 2024 - looking across the Julians Alps in Slovenia in late August on the way up to Triglav summit at 5:30am to try to beat the crowds.
