The heart wants what it wants, in my case a 30 year old Nikon camera lens with no haze or fungus.

🌱 From this mornings walk.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5j8... A forgotten Metallica tune that may find relevance today

I was legitimately worried about today to the point that I did not get much sleep last night. But after today’s No Kings protest I feel motivated and proud of all the good people standing up against tyranny and for what is right.

🌱 A native plant from my area with an interesting name, rattlesnake master. From my neighbors yard this evening.

The old summer weather pattern for New has returned and I’m very happy about this. Something I love about these afternoon downpours. The last two years of brutal heat were rough.

An Oregon chickadee from my trip this spring.

🌱 Posting photos of my tropical plants surviving reminds me that the great New Orleans blizzard was less than six months ago.

Speaking of Southern California trees that keep popping back from the roots year after year. A banyan I never expected to survive. 7 years old at this point but very small.

🌱 Jacaranda trees do not thrive in New Orleans. I brought back some seeds from when I lived in California years ago. Every year they freeze to the ground, but every summer the come back with multiple stems

The administration said they were going to liberate California from “socialists,” the same old lie Bush used to get he US into those illegal wars, then ha a US Senator thrown to the ground. We are getting close to them declaring war on states they don’t like.

So rumors going around that ice is driving around New Orleans arresting people working on houses.

Looks like the state of Louisiana is being extra stupid. On another note, anyone interested in a small house with a big yard near jazz fest?

🌱 Day flowers are loving all the rain.

Seems silly to complain about this but getting my ac unit replaced is turning into a nightmare. I had to go with the more expensive company because the others just wouldn’t show up. Got the new unit in and it’s isn’t adequately cooling. Im giving these people a chance to fix this but I’m irritated

🌱 Another tropical that survived, morning glory tree, really more of a shrub.

Here is the thing about living in cities, it’s one hell of a lot nicer than the sticks.

All these “common sense centrists” opinion writers and propagandists, I mean journalists keep saying “what the regime is doing is wrong, but standing up against it is even worse.”

The world is a lot less funky now.

For the past months my generalized anxiety disorder had been getting to the point where I was about to “ask your doctor about Buspirone.” In the meantime I decided to go back to thc lozenges. Well that did the trick.

Buy a house they say, it’s the financially responsible thing to do. Meanwhile another ungodly expensive maintenance issue comes up, new roof and new ac system. Im never going to afford to upgrade my birding camera setup. Photo is why we got the house.

Forget where you went to high school, the real New Orleans question should be if you ever watched phat phat n all that.

🌱 I think my lesser galangal is going to bloom for the first time in several years.

Bicycle thread. I’ve always enjoyed casual cycling. I used to commute to work on a bike before I went fully remote. My favorites are old steel hybrid bikes. This Bridgestone is one of my all time favorites.

Hardly any bumblebees this year, but a lot of these small hyperactive black bees.

Going offline for the evening I think, hoping the federal usurpers aren’t going to declare war on California in the next few hours. Team Los Angeles here.

Inspired by the people of Los Angeles.
