When I was a child, our main radio station in New Zealand would broadcast Sunday Morning Requests where kids would write in and ask for things like Badjelly The Witch by Spike Milligan, or Sparky And The Talking Train, or this version of the Star Wars theme music.

Time to clarify something. When authors say “Unbound haven’t paid me” that makes it sound like Unbound had some money, which they used to buy authors’ writing. Unbound had no money. The authors did: we had raised that money. They were holding it in trust. Unbound stole our money.

Today I learned that British people get paid monthly. I would have thought the country who invented the term fortnight would have applied it due to being paid that frequently. Where I am I've always been paid fortnightly or weekly.
