Today, we said goodbye to our best friend, sweet baby, and full-time grumblebutt, Sugar Hog. She lived a lifespan typical for a healthy happy hedgie. She had a good run, and brought us so much joy. We are not okay. I wish I could boop her snoot one more time.

If we teach people how to treat us, it seems I taught that it's okay to clap back at me without telling me why and that my friendship is disposable, like an innocuous variable in the social equation. I know I've not always been a good friend. I'm just tired of feeling...optional.
