For Zeta Gundam's 40th anniversary, a thread on the show's haunting use of mecha gore:

Let's stitch together some panning shots from Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket! (and check out the ones @sundownmcmoon.bsky.social has been posting from Zeta Gundam). This one from episode 6 is probably the most memorable in the whole OVA

This week on MSB: Victory Gundam ep. 43! We meet a new BESPA character who will surely be around a while, ponder whether Fuala Griffon is a Char or perhaps more of a Yazan back for revenge, and debate the merits of Uso's 'after school special' storyline. gundampodcast.com/episode/8196...

Whew! Here's the initial chunk of "Nippon Sunrise 1976~1987," the second part of my ongoing history of the Sunrise animation studio. It turns out I have a *lot* to say about Sunrise's first independent original work, "Super Machine Zambot 3." www.ultimatemark.com/gundam/produ...

Thom and Nina are in the next room recording @gundampodcast.bsky.social and I can hear approximately 0% of what they're saying apart from the bit where Thom loudly proclaims "I'm LEAVING I'm DONE here" and then remains firmly in the room so look forward to that later I guess if youre a gundam patron

"Thank you for changing my life" "I'm literally a robot cartoon"

Only 3 months to go until the opening of the Osaka World Expo, and its new giant Gundam. www.bandainamco.co.jp/en/gundam-ne...

If you haven't started your 0080 re-watch, there's still time!

suddenly remember something maybe I'd share about Zeta #Gundam that I'm not sure whether @gundampodcast.bsky.social covered it in their research. 😁 In the Hong Kong arc when Kamille left Argama, you could see the crew asked me to "bring back the good stuff". Do you know what they are referencing?

The best podcast -- either about big robots and space politics, or otherwise.

This is by far my favorite podcast and has actually introduced my friends to Gundam as well!

Was listening to the latest episode of @gundampodcast.bsky.social and thinking about Hammer Girl. I cannot say she’s the original but Kari of City Hunter definitely was the one popularized it. The trope was even used on regular tv shows in Asia! And I recommend it’s LA remake too.

True MSB sickos know there are actually three hosts

Yeah arguing about how to pronounce G-Quuuuuux is fun but spare a thought for the hardworking podcasters who are going to have to actually say it

"BESPies" will now join my deranged vernacular thanks to this episode. Thanks @mecha-tho.bsky.social for making me laugh too loud again while listening to the current season of Mobile Suit Breakdown. 🤣

Now on Patreon.com/GundamPodcast - Victory Gundam ep. 35. Uso faces a dilemma, Flanders is there when you need him, Karlmann becomes a weapon, and Myra's impossibly good while Shahkti's just impossible. Then for research, Thom thinks he knows *exactly* where Tomino got the name Zanscare.

On the podcast this week: Victory Gundam episode 34. Cronicle's crimes are as big as his tires, Nina makes and loses a new friend, Uso gets what he needs with a little help from *his* friends, and Katejina's rhetorical strategy is unpersuasive. gundampodcast.com/episode/0d2a...

At this point in my life I’m not going to get better but with a sufficiently large robot I could still get revenge.

Unfortunately we lost track of BASH during the gradual twitter exodus. If you know where to find them online these days, please let us know!

Been getting back into to this, and it's hands-down the best listen in my podcatcher. It's like that "wow cool robot" meme, except it turns "wow cool war allegory" into "whoa, cool Heike-derived reflection on wartime exploitation specifically (and also of Japanese import pizza)".

Not to gush too much, but every new episode is immediately the highlight of my week.

Mobile Suit Breakdown is a great and very informative well-researched podcast. If you are a Gundam fan you should give it a listen!

This was such a fun project and a great opportunity. I’m still proud of it even 3 years later! 💖

Ever since we covered Gundam ZZ on MSB Season 3, we've been commissioning artists to design new Tarot cards based on ZZ characters. The first is The Fool (Judau) illustrated for us by Tayuta (x.com/tayuta0079)

Mobile Suit Breakdown is so great, literally #1 source for my Gundam fix throughout the week. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve gone back and listened to every season again while waiting for new episodes to come out. If you haven’t tried them you absolutely should!

If you're interested in Gundam (perhaps by way of #gunpla?), I highly suggest a watch-along with Mobile Suit Breakdown!
