I know this might sound strange but I think it’d be psychologically healthier for me if Liverpool were to win this game.

This was the day everything caught up with Arsenal. They could only outrun their problems for so long. @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/615...

"That was nowhere near the levels that we have to hit to have the opportunity to win a Premier League." Arteta "very angry" at Arsenal's performance against West Ham - and himself. @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/615...

Arteta "very angry" at his team and himself for that performance. "Nowhere near the levels we have to hit to have the possibilities to win the Premier League."

Unfortunately, that one is very much a red card

This, basically

Keep thinking that the euphoria around the emergence of 'Mikel Merino, goal machine' clouded quite how bad that first 80 minutes or so was at Leicester. I don't think today will be easy - and think that goes for most of our games until we get some semblance of our front-line back.

Asked Arteta about the situation with Takehiro Tomiyasu. Have to feel for him.

Oof, that's a tough path to the final for Arsenal. After PSV they would face one of the two Madrid teams, with the 2nd leg in Spain. Then one from Liverpool, PSG, Brugge or Villa - again with the 2nd leg away. But if they were to happen, two-legged ties against Real & Liverpool would be epic...

Dead bodies are decomposing on the streets of Goma. The UN has described “immense human suffering” and a death toll nearing 3,000, following a Rwanda-backed offensive. Arsenal’s sponsorship deal with Visit Rwanda has become impossible to justify. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/202...

This week’s column. Some (not all) of the coverage I have seen of Myles Lewis Skelly over the last 10 days or so has bothered me. It’s clear many of us are still not mindful enough and do not take due care with language and framing when it comes to talking about black footballers 👇🏻

Arsenal have selected 15-year-old Max Dowman & 16-year-old Jack Porter in the squad for their Dubai training camp. 🔺 Players fly out on Thursday 🔺 Several academy boys joining 1st team 🔺 Academy staff travelling to help integration @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/611...

Alexander Isak delivered a devastating demonstration of why Arteta wants him so much - and why Newcastle will be so unwilling to let him go. But Arsenal could have had him in 2022. Ahead of a big summer, there's surely a lesson there. @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/611...

Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Alexander Isak. Against Arsenal on Wednesday, Newcastle's leading man showed just what a difference-maker he can be. Whether Isak is attainable or not, Arsenal can learn from the performances of a player they might have signed in 2022. ✍️ @gunnerblog.bsky.social
