We should start calling billionaires something that sounds less cool if we want to unite the working class against them. The millennial phrase "so I did a thing" is indicative of a generation who grew up as social media did - the desire to brag is there, but it's embarrassing to want it. Future gens understand that bragging is simply what you do online, so this faux shyness is more transparent and therefore laughable
