Are there any other Black science communicators with youtube channels??

At best, ‘detox’ products only detox your wallet and at worst they can actually damage the organ systems, like your liver and kidneys, that naturally “detoxify” your body every day. And if you don’t have working liver or working kidneys then nothing from Mark Hyman’s supplement shop is going to help

It can be frustrating to hear “I don’t know” or “we don’t have a good treatment for that.” I’ve been there myself as a patient and it really sucks. It’s human nature to not accept that and want someone to give you answers and cures. That’s how medical grifts are such a massively profitable industry.

Choose your fighter: 1) Prebiotic 2) Probiotic 3) Postbiotic Which do you choose? #Microbiome

Maybe you're already familiar with the bacteriophage- a virus that infects bacteria. Did you know there is a very similar entity among the viruses, a virophage? These viruses infect other viruses! 🤯

Me: “wow! what a cool study and they even shared all their code too! Let me try and run it on my data…” #bioinformatics #Rstats

Me: The what? “The sexome.” So, you study sexomics? “Well actually, our lab conducts high-throughput multi-sexomics research.” Got it.. 🧪 #Microbiome #MicrobiomeSky #Sexome

They should call it the gulf in america between the haves and the have nots

If they can’t handle me at my Papyrus, then they don’t deserve me at my EB Garamond

From reddit: a letter from a postdoc who survived the Bolsonaro years. This is helpful framing for how to science in this administration. 🧪 www.reddit.com/r/labrats/s/...

How many supplemental tables and figures is too many? Asking for a friend 👉👈

Excited to share a new paper from our lab 😀 We investigate the tumor microenvironment - to reveal factors influencing cancer progression & therapy response 🔬🧪 So we naturally wanted to ask - does the gut #microbiome influence brain #metastasis 🦠 🧠? Massara et al 2025 www.cell.com/iscience/ful...

If you have an undergrad that will graduate this year but who needs a little more research experience before their next step, encourage them to apply to the UConn RAMP program. genome-postbac.biology.clas.uconn.edu. The application deadline for the 2025 cohort is February 21st. 🧪 1/2
