While grocery shopping today, I encountered a crowd of four people hovering around the eggs and discussing their price. Four people. Discussing the price of eggs. Evidently, it's not proverbial at all. People have these conversations.

Can a headline alone be eligible for a Pulitzer?

This? This is why I opposed the ACA despite finding some of the changes it ushered in good and necessary. The shifting financial incentives made it easy to foresee that huge numbers would still face barriers to accessing care, but they'd now be paying for that privilege.

Do people genuinely fail to understand that killing can be a valid and necessary method of encouraging sociopolitical change? Or are they just being obtuse? The ethical and moral legitimately of particular cases can be debated all day. But surely we all know it can be necessary.

Yes, I'm still hyperfixating.

I always wondered why some of us are thrill-seekers. But today I saw this headline, and as I sympathizer myself, I smiled. Biggest grin you've ever seen. I was delighted. Still am! Okay. I see what these genes are for.

"I don't see why not. But do you really want to ask me what's socially appropriate?" "Yeah, I'd better not."

Trying to find a channel where I can listen to poetry without being attacked by elevator music or frighteningly emphatic readings. Not doing well.

"She's very concerned. You should learn Dog and tell her what's happening so she calms down." "Woof. Woof woof woof." To the dog, his tone warm and comforting. "Her tail started wagging harder! She's saying, 'I know you're too stupid to speak Dog, but I appreciate you for trying.'"

"I don't understand why you couldn't just tell the truth." "I know you don't. And that's what I love about you."

Why do we train our dogs to poop outside? If we'd trained them to go inside, I wouldn't have to freeze half to death while watching them squeeze excrement from their fluffy bungholes. This potty-outside convention is dumb. Let's get rid of it.

Did one of those photo-based color swatch tests to see what seasonal color I am. The outcome gave me a recommended list of colors identical to my existing wardrobe. Do I like these colors or do I like that these colors make me look good?

Nightmare — Ditlev Blunck, 1846

Bluesky's making me feel comfortable discussing grooming and self-presentation. I've got a block there; I feel like I should be all religion and philosophy and deep psychological musings. Beauty's trivial. But beauty's not trivial. It gives life its savor. Thanks for helping me embrace that.
