On this date in 1981 Dave Koza hits in Marty Barrett with a single in the bottom of the 33rd inning, giving Pawtucket a 3-2 win over Rochester, the longest game in professional baseball history. It took 8 hrs and 7 minutes to play. Future HOF’ers Wade Boggs and Cal Ripken went a combined 6 for 25.
