DLSS is actually already doing a "decent" job in integrating path tracing samples. I mean yes, it is noisy for sure, but ray reconstruction turns this grass into a painting

Graphics technology prediction: We will see a combined sample integration system for path tracing. Currently, separate denoising and upscaling algorithms are used. DLSS is in itself already a sample integrator, however. I find it logical to steer towards one combined integrator in the future.
