It’s so weird to explain to younguns how prevalent and accepting we were of smoking. You could smoke everywhere. My high school had only stopped allowing 18 year old students smoke on campus just a year or two before I started there (1990). There were cigarette burns in my office at BP (2000-03). 🧵

Couldn’t get the outdoor cat inside. Got a good pic of him & posted it in our neighborhood group. Also opened the heated shelter up more. He didn’t like one entrance. (I had it partially open so there was an escape but he didn’t know that.) W/it open, he has been chilling in it all night and day.

I have never felt so old as I did looking @ the sxsw line up. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never seen a huge amount of bands I knew previously. This year, there’s only 3 bands I am excited about. One is a DJ set & the other is local-ish. This is totally self-inflicted bc I stopped listening 2 new music.

Just saw the cat come by and eat. Did not go into my heated cat house. It’s 23 degrees outside and will get to 17! :( If he comes back before I go to bed, I might try and bring him inside. Poor kitty.

There is a cat I have been feeding on my front porch. I also bought a heated outdoor shelter for animals. It’s going to be freezing the next few days. I really hope this cat belongs to someone and they keep him inside the rest of the week. But if they don’t…

I donated to @mdanderson.bsky.social last year and ever since I have been inundated with actual paper mail from them. It feels like they send me something every day. Definitely more than once a week. I can’t help but feel like this is just an incredible amount of waste.

Well ChatGPT just called me a liar. But it’s an idiot. Like how many times do I have to tell it I use vi and not nano, it updates its memory and apologizes and promises to always use vi in examples/instructions going forward but never does! WHO’S THE LIAR NOW?!!

Me and my clothes are having a reckoning. The tall pile are things that don’t fit and I don’t want. The smaller left pile is mostly band shirts that don’t fit but I can’t bring myself to get rid of and hope it will inspire me to lose weight. 😂 (there’s still more to go through. So much more.)

I made a site that hopefully displays the federal government domain changes. I still need to wait for another domain update to make sure the webhook is working correctly. Been binging NCIS and I totally forgot or never saw this Breakfast Club episode. They have characters who represent the 4 kids and the actor who played the janitor. They did a great job casting Ally Sheedy’s character. I thought it was actually her at first.

I think one of the biggest issues w/ Musk is making the people lose trust in the government. Yes yes I know, there is already distrust, still, there’s an underlying trust of services many did have. Once you lose trust, it’s hard to get it back. This is another method of government destabilization.

I feel like I have affected some change. MyChart with ARC had a painful messaging process. Even just to get to read previous messages. (Each facility has control over their UI) I complained about a couple of times. They FINALLY removed the unnecessary hoops! I complain a lot and you should too. 1/2

When the power went out, there was some sort of explosion in my entertainment center, knocked some things down. There was also a smell of electrical burning. I tried to find out what it was to no avail. So I decided to overhaul all the cable management behind there. 1/2
