🚨 BREAKING - Road occupied at Strand outside the Royal Courts of Justice. Over 1,000 people are sat in the street holding a time-limited Exhibition in solidarity with the ‘Lord’ Walney 16. The People will not be deterred by extreme sentences of peaceful protestors. 🧵

"It is “too early” to say whether the UK will strip the wife of Bashar al-Assad, Asma al-Assad, of her British citizenship, the prime minister has said." Guardian. Shamima Begum also went to Syria to marry a terrorist & was stripped in 2024. The Met investigated Asma for torture & terrorism

Sorry to see my MP Diane Abbott lobbying against the assisted dying bill. She argues no safeguards can be good enough: not the experience of jurisdictions such as Oregon. And she attacks the timing, which is determined by the private members bill lottery. www.dignityindying.org.uk/assisted-dyi...

Another regular #EastLondonKingfishers spot is the River Lea at Hackney Marshes where we have had in recent years two breeding pairs. Sadly this summer neither pair appeared to be successful in fledgling any young. Fingers crossed for next year. #birds #kingfisher #londonbirds #birdphotography

Last week it was amazing to meet & help Hamza Yassin (nature cameraman, TV presenter and Strictly Come Dancing winner!) & the wonderful Lira find & film #kingfishers in east London for a nature series out next year. I was very relieved the kingfishers turned up! #LondonBirds #nature #birds

If I don't follow back, it may be because - - you've no bio or posts, so I've no idea if you're interesting/real - I'm following you via a list - you're a lovely transatlantic person & I'm mostly following UK people so as not to get swamped Thanks for following & sorry if I seem ungracious

Dropped in to Nick Read's evidence session at the Post Office Horizon inquiry & I'm struggling to keep my breakfast down. There's been a fine array of slime balls on the stand but he's definitely a contender. Jason Beer shows him evidence that PO investigation chimps got bonuses for prosecutions.

This would be a good day for @peteapps.bsky.social to start posting. Author of the excellent 'Show Me the Bodies' account of the culpabilities for Grenfell. I really want to hear what he has to say.

Wild Things will be organising family dance sessions as part of the Tree Circle Cinema activities. 17.30 and 18.30. All ages welcome.
