"pre-read" is one of those weird things that's like "pre-heat your oven" where like yes, it means heat it up to temperature before putting food in it, it just seems weird because your oven heats up by definition.

oh, fun, apparently my COBRA from when I was laid off was pre-pay, meaning when I canceled it I didn't have to pay for that month, though it didn't say that anywhere so I sent a check anyway and they reinstated my account :P

Something that drives me up the wall about Redfin and Zillow and realtor dot com and stuff is that they don’t let you filter on housing STYLE and FEATURES. Like i want to see split level or two floor (cape cod, colonial); basement; fenced yard. I don’t want to see ranches.

there's something fishy about DIY culture. my options are: 1. I need to do something once, so I can watch a few youtube videos, and hope for the best. 2. I can have someone whose entire career is doing the one thing I need to do, accomplish it correctly for me based on experience and trade skill.
