I’ve been baffled about JD Vance going to Europe and scolding them about moderating “mis” and “dis” information, and no one in the media seems to be specifically asking why does he want mis and dis-information to be spread freely in Europe. See below 👇

Elon Musk may be the "face" of the operation, but I don't believe he is the architect. I think it is Thiel and Vance. Thiel remains in the shadow, but his puppet Vance is right there. Vance went from being a normal human, to a hateful, divisive, angry bigot. I just want to know... why?

What's the big game that's afoot? Why is the US voluntarily hobbling itself? They're abdicating their leadership in health/biological sciences, in trade/commerce, in economics. What's the long term strategic goal here? It cannot be abdication for the sake of abdication. It makes no sense.

Can somebody explain to me why JD Vance has become... so cruel? With Trump, we always knew he was cruel. We know that because there are enablers on the right who reveled in his cruelty and wanted that on display (Steve Bannon eg). But why did Vance become so cruel? What's the reason?

The rage JD Vance has for non white people is so thick, you can cut it with a knife. The cruelty and hate is an end to itself. It’s shocking, but it’s true. “You disgust me” he says to Ro Khanna. Unbelievable. He can’t even bring himself to show performative kindness.

2 weeks. 2 weeks it’s taken for the U.S. to descend into the very deep throes of plutocracy, oligarchy and authoritarianism

At some point, the democratic institutions will attempt to hold Trump and Musk accountable for the annihilation of the USG. At that point, it would be wise to remember that the last time, the other side clutched pearls and let them get away with it. This time, they *know* they can get away with it.

Trump posted on his social media that he's looking for an "Economic Deal" from Canada in the next 30 days. Canada needs to stand strong, and while we should do everything to avoid the tariffs, we also need to organize on a war footing to decouple ourselves from the US market and economy #cdnpoli

It is immaterial if Trump delays tariffs on Canada, and wants to negotiate a new deal. The fracture has been created. Canada MUST work to diversify its supply and export lines. We cannot depend on the U.S. This has to be taken as a wake up call. The U.S. has turned out to be an unreliable ally.

Doug Ford cancels the Starlink contract. He might actually win the dumb election after all. #onpoli #cdnpoli

He’s talking about invasion and annexation in the 3rd phase. He’s right. We should spare the sob story, and respond with extreme cold fury. Shutter all energy exports. If the U.S. isn’t interested in the “sob story”, we’re not interested in their “exceptionalism.” GFY satan’s spawn. #ViveLeCanada

"We are where we are because of Donald Trump, the Republican Party, and the American people. This was inevitable the moment they elected him again, and it is the fault of them and them alone." — @escrimshaw.bsky.social Couldn't agree more, couldn't have said it better. #cdnpoli #ViveLeCanada

So now we get in a pissing contest where each side tries to show how much they can hurt each other, people who have been friends and partners forever, things just keep getting ratcheted up, and everyone loses. All because of one malignant narcissist’s derangement and fragile ego.

The Canadian political class needs to address the opposition in the U.S. They need to inform that opposition that long after Trump is gone, things will not go back to “normal.” Once Canada’s supply and export lines have been reoriented, they won’t be going back to the U.S. This is a fracture.

Buddy, your state’s electric grid fails when there’s a mild breeze, so I’d sit this one—oh wait. Never mind. #ViveLeCanada #cdnpoli

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

can't believe the Dems lost when they've got Pete Buttigieg. Him and Bernie could've upended the entire autocratic system in existence, but instead, here we are fighting the tariff game with the 3 most integrated economies in the world.

at the end of the day, the real tragedy is that there is a huge plurality of American voters who have been systematically degraded of their critical thinking skills. that is what sociologists, economists, anthropologists need to study. if there are any left in 4 years time, that is.

what does it say about the state of American psychosis when normal, well-meaning people, have accepted that Trump's unilateral imperial actions are... ok? despite knowing what he is as a person, despite knowing his character, they've accepted that they are ok with all of that?

I feel like it’s gotten so fucking rotten that it’s impossible to actually post honest thoughts anywhere, because every single platform is policing speech and only allowing performative circlejerk thoughts. Guess a pen and notebook is the only honest outlet left now. @rachelgilmore.bsky.social

The fact that the Tesla auto locks in event of a fire has deeply shaken me. No other reason has ever come close to me never buying a Tesla again. None. You cannot convince me to buy one anymore. What happens if that car catches on fire and then fucking LOCKS me inside of it?! Like seriously wtf??

It really is fascinating, that on the one hand Musk is a rage baiting xenophobe who wants to import boatloads of cheap H1B immigrants, and on the other he wants a white supremacist Nazi party to win in Germany. The dichotomy is fascinating. And horrifying.

In the end though, there were signs. And the biggest, brightest, most in your face sign of it all was the fact that he renamed Twitter to... X. Like WTF.
