One irony is that Trump might be the greatest force for globalization ever, but it will be a process that excludes the United States.

Oh, I get it! Trump wants to be able to take credit for a red wave:

Can you imagine if Obama or Biden or Bush had purposely crashed everyone’s 401k’s then flew to Florida on a Thursday for a golf tournament?

Yesterday, Trump unleashed economic chaos on the world. Today, and for the rest of the week, he's in Florida hosting a Saudi owned golf tournament.

Sure, I know the stock market had a rough day, but ask yourself this: which do you really need more, that 4-6% of your retirement savings that you just lost, or your independence from, well...um, stuff?

With a couple of history degrees and quite a few years of teaching history under my belt, I've always said that presidents don't really have that much effect on the economy. I now need to update that to, "presidents who don't do mind-numbingly stupid, batshit crazy things..."

Happy Tariff Day to all who celebrate! The ghosts of Hawley and Smoot beam down from heaven on our brilliant Trumpenführer!

Nah, I'm good.

It's getting a lot of attn today. But even before today most of the country had very little idea of what has happened at NIH or through it the entire ecosystem of biomedical research in the US. Simply put, Musk, Kennedy & Trump exploded a bomb right in the middle of cancer cure research in the US.

Just so everybody understands, Booker has been speaking cogently about the issues the entire time and Strom Thurmond famously spent hours reading from the encyclopedia, because segregationists were and are dumbshits

Retweet this if Cory Booker is making you cry with pride and hope right now.

Cory Booker opening with John Lewis and also hitting the new record mark with Lewis was masterfully timed, and pretty much the best imaginable rhetorical middle finger to Thurmond.
