Today, on his 85th birthday, I am honoring my dear friend and mentor, John Lewis. His dedication to this country and his battles against civil injustices will never be forgotten. We must persevere through the noise and remain committed to advocating for social change as he did. #JohnLewisSelfie

It's important that the people stay informed. I encourage everyone to hear the concerns of my constituents as we unpacked co-President Trump's first 30 days in office. youtu.be/-ji4XofIl-c?...

I'm going live on IG with @bishop.house.gov today at 3 PM to talk about the need for Congress to pass a spending bill by March 14. #WTFShow

We need to embody the spirit of Dr. Tommie Smith & Dr. John Carlos—their audacity, their resilience, & their unwavering commitment to justice. We cannot and will not allow history to be erased. Their courage changed the world, & it is up to us to carry that legacy forward. youtu.be/mK0MDYGUg9g?...

Our veterans should not have to fight with Elon Musk and Donald Trump for their jobs or adequate care. This administration’s efforts to shrink the government are hurting veterans—all to make room for billionaires tax cuts. www.wsbtv.com/news/local/a...

I led a letter to Chief Justice Roberts emphasizing the critical need for a judiciary that is seen as independent, fair, and legitimate… A binding code of conduct with an enforcement mechanism for our nation’s apex court would give us a Supreme Court not just in name, but in reality.

Congressman Hank Johnson's Statement After The Mass Firing of CDC Employees:

Trump’s first 30 days in office are approaching. I am hosting a forum on Wednesday, February 19, at 7 PM. I want to hear your questions and concerns—#GA04 residents should register below: hankjohnson.house.gov/forum

On the 7th anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, my heart remains with the 17 people who lost their lives, those who were injured, and the loved ones who mourn these unimaginable losses. Our children should not have to live in fear of gun violence.

Republicans need TRILLIONS in budget cuts to pay for tax breaks for their billionaire and big corporate friends. Here are the Americans who will lose their care:

116 years ago, the NAACP was founded. They've stood on the frontlines, fighting civil injustices & advocating for civil rights. At a time when attacking Black history & dismantling DEI are coming from our own government, let's reaffirm the fight for justice & fairness & ensure it continues.

35 years ago today, Nelson Mandela, a champion of the oppressed, was released after serving 27 years in South African prisons. His legacy reminds us to reject hatred, uphold freedom, and work toward a better world for all.

The real President of the United States? Elon Musk, Corrupter-in-Chief.

It was my honor to join the students at The Washington Center to talk about the threat of misinformation, the importance of fact checking the sources of information we use, and some of the work that we are trying to focus on this Congress. Thank you for having me!

It was great meeting with Commissioner McMurry from the Georgia Department of Transportation in D.C. yesterday. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m proud to reintroduce a resolution to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the Freedom Riders–heroes who risked everything to fight segregation. Their courage changed history. It’s time to honor them. #CivilRights #BlackHistoryMonth

Elon Musk, a private citizen, shouldn't have access to your personal data. Instead of introducing legislation to curb this overreach and lower prices, Republicans are more concerned with whether Elon will bankroll them in the primaries.

An unelected, unappointed billionaire with special interests is rampaging through millions of Americans' Social Security numbers and personal information—and we're supposed to think this is fine?

Instead of going after billionaires & big corporations to lower costs, Trump is imposing tariffs on our neighboring allies while going soft on China—driving up prices on gas, groceries, and housing, killing jobs, and straining supply chains. American workers will pay the price.

This month, we commemorate the legacy of Black people & recognize that Black History is American history. Teaching it is teaching America’s history. Acknowledging it means telling the whole truth. Let us never forget that.

If you are one of the federal government employees who received Trump's “Fork In The Road” memo, don't be tricked or frightened into resigning. You can't depend on a promise to pay you for 8 months, from a guy with a history of not paying people who work for him. Know you rights.

I pledge to you that we will continue to let you know what’s going on so you can be inspired to do what you have to do to protect yourself & your loved ones & also give a little back to your community. Those values are still here despite the fact that Trump does not have them.

We are Live now with our Community Conversation discussing Trump’s Federal Funding Freeze and how it impacts GA-04 and beyond. Join us now!

Tonight, I am holding a community conversation on Trump’s Federal Freeze Order. Please send me your questions and concerns by visiting: hankjohnson.house.gov/questions.

Statement from Congressman Hank Johnson Regarding the Aircraft Collision at DCA.

Going live on Instagram at 6:45pm to talk about everything that’s been happening recently. Click the link in my bio.

Trump vowed to be a dictator on day one. By slashing federal funding passed by Congress–a plan right out of Project 2025–this illegal plan threatens democracy, hurts farmers, raises rent and grocery prices, makes college less affordable, and undermines disease-fighting efforts.

Trump is acting like a dictator, repeatedly ignoring the laws of Congress. He will continue to impose authoritarian rule unless stopped in the courts. But, will he even abide by Supreme Court rulings he disagrees with? www.nytimes.com/2025/01/24/u...

Today, we remember the six million Jewish people who were killed during the Holocaust. We must continue our fight against antisemitism and ensure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never minimized or forgotten. When one group is targeted, we all aren’t safe. #NeverAgain

Project 2025 was HIS plan all along: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-CG...

If you’re born in America, you’re an American. Period.

The Neighbors Not Enemies Act sponsored by @repilhan.bsky.social & @hirono.senate.gov repeals the Alien Enemies Act, preventing the internment & deportation of people with no due process based solely on their nationality. It’s past time we end this archaic law. #NeighborsNotEnemies

This is like the federal government withdrawing federal troops from the South in 1877, which ended Reconstruction and ushered in the Jim Crow Era. It’s straight-out racism. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

As we reflect on this 52nd #RoevWade anniversary, the third without Roe, the need for nationwide protection of the right to abortion is evident. Today and every day, I am proud to fight with @reprocaucus.bsky.social Caucus to restore, expand, and protect reproductive freedom.

While history will ultimately judge President Biden’s legacy, I believe we can say with confidence that he served us well. Thank you.

I commend President Biden and our allies in the region for their tireless efforts to make this ceasefire and hostage agreement possible.

Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 96th birthday. A trailblazer for justice, equality, and nonviolence, his dream continues to inspire us to strive for a fairer and more just society.

Tomorrow, January 15th, is the last day of the 2025 marketplace open enrollment period. Make sure you visit healthcare.gov to find the best plan for you and your family.

Happy Founders Day to my mother and her outstanding Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as they celebrate 112 years of sisterhood, scholarship, and service today!

Today, Senator Ossoff, Senator Warnock & I announced $2.8 Million grant for EV charging stations in DeKalb Co. This funding is from President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I voted for, which continues to improve our infrastructure in GA-04 and around the country.

Justice Alito's call to Trump doesn't pass the smell test. I sent a letter with @repjasmine.bsky.social demanding Alito's recusal from Trump v. New York in light of these shocking (or not so) revelations.

A winter storm watch is in effect for our area. Please share this information to ensure everyone can stay warm and safe.

Congressman Hank Johnson Released the Following Statement After Congressional Certification of the 2024 Presidential Election:

Happy Three Kings Day! To those who celebrate in #GA04 and throughout the country, may the gifts of the three wise men bring you joy and prosperity.

You can view my full review of the 118th Congress here: hankjohnson.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

To his credit Mike Johnson learned from the 15 round debacle of 2 years ago. Instead of trying to jam his conference with a quick second round he held the vote open while some backroom arm twisting & hand wringing took place. The result: 2 changed vote, enough to win the gavel.

With another Republican vote against Mike Johnson, Round 2 of the Speaker’s vote appears inevitable. No matter how many roll calls it takes Democrats will stand united as Republicans engage in a spectacle of disunity.
