This might be contentious, But why do people love Moomins? For some reason I cannot define, or recollect or identify, this was the only kids cartoon that utterly freaked me out when I was younger. They still make me shudder! Adult fashion items emblazoned with them makes me recoil with discomfort.

A week ago, I was angry and demoralised after yet another mainstream media article erased decades of women's SF & Fantasy writing and minimised our current work in the genre. Asking why bother carrying on writing to be dismissed? These letters and the response to them have answered that. Thank you.

So much this!! Gates is also not specifically YA. Its pacing is definitely not aimed at YA. It is ‘clean’ ( a phrase I hate) purely because of the style I was aiming at. Not for any other reason. I’ve seen so much entirely inappropriate shelving of many women author’s books.

I have a real yearning to get stuck into some of my non fiction books. The downside of that is that I always end up inspired with new fiction ideas. And I already have two books in progress, two novellas nestling in my mind, and another novel sitting next to them.

I do a lot of shouting about Gates because it’s in SPFBOX, and not enough about the other series’. Anyway, for no particular reason… Here’s me at Glasgow 2024 releasing Unfamiliared, which is a cosy escape of a novella. It’s full of witches and animals a magical sports day, and missing magic.
