Please consider buying this book so Ric can afford to fix the aspect ratio on his Mega Drive setup. For a single one-off purchase you can help fund a proper line-multiplier.

Delighted to announce that, after an outrageous amount of flapping (because I had/have/will always have no idea what I'm doing), the first Infinite Diversity, Finite Combinations book is up for sale, in electronic form! It's SO pretty, too! Go get your Kirk on! www.idfc.co.uk/category/all...

Good fucking god this AI consultation is dull and full of so much nonsense.

This is ENRAGING. The Guardian DID ALL OF THIS. They lied, telling people that trans people were erasing women, that we were preventing women from naming themselves, and now they're acting like it was someone else? I am ENRAGED.

The university that declares “We are not throwing trans kids under the bus, we are not ending diversity and inclusiveness efforts, and we are not opening our doors to ICE agents” would not only be uniquely heroic but would be doing some strong branding work on the cheap.

Around 400,000 people work in universities across the UK, and more then 200,000 of them are academics. The closures and job losses we’re seeing in the sector just now are a major industrial crises affecting the key workplaces and economic drivers of hundreds of towns and cities.

We absolutely smashed it. I'm so proud of my branch. This is the first step of many, but I hope that we continue to come and work together and build solidarity and more importantly SUPPORT EACH OTHER and FIGHT FOR OUR UNIVERSITY. Because it is OUR university.

This is very urgent. The UK government is planning to change copyright law. If you are an artist, author, musician or work in the creative industry please read this. www.chrishaughton.com/blog/ai-and-...

Without wishing to distract from how bad things are in the US right now, this is a lesson UK universities *desperately* need to learn.

Astonished to read in the newspaper that the number of people claiming the higher rate of health benefits has increased over the past five years. I can't think of anything over the past five years that might have caused this - people must just be getting lazier.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references. Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

This is huge. My petition got approved. It challenges the UK government to the lift the Puberty Blocker ban on the grounds that it contradicts article 8 of The United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child. Please sign and Repost ✊️🏳️‍⚧️ petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...
