Go work in the garden, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

This photo says 1000 words. Musk, standing, the center of all eyes. Trump possibly asleep.

RIP Gene, 1930–2025. Ain't that a kick in the balls.

unleashing social media on the world at large was like inflicting smallpox on immunologically naive peoples. Only psyches scarred over by endless stupid flamewars on usenet or IRC were truly ready for it

trillion dollar industry that will revolutionize everything

Everyone in the Trump coalition voted for someone to get got. Most of them didn’t realize that they were that someone to someone else.

Siri, summarise 2025 in a single headline:

Nice things: we can still have them.

LOL

RIP Ron, an icon from a bygone era when whole families still gathered round the telly on a Saturday night. Moordspel, Honeymoonquiz, Showbizzquiz... he did them all. Only the greatest of the good get bothered by Emu.

Conservatives warning about George Soros but make the footage Elon Musk

#boardgames You may already be aware of the rotten luck that has befallen Paul Harris of HandyCon. I won't link to Zuckerbook here, but here's a BBC article and radio interview for context. bbc.com/news/article...

Excuse me but what in the actual fuck

RIP Horst Janson (1935–2025), late of the Imperial Guard.

Speaking as a neurodiverse person, this is both the laziest and most offensive reading of the world’s richest sociopath.

Happy 77th birthday to John Carpenter.

Really enjoyed Nosferatu, but hoo boy does framing every single shot dead centre get tired quickly.

It was bought. Prove me wrong.

A nice little oral history of the most 80s teatime telly ever to 80s, wolfshead.

RIP Janey Godley, 1961–2024 Frank, get the door!

It sounds dumb but I think it is genuinely hard to understand: all this incredible reorganization of American society—the subservience of an entire political party, the fracturing of reality/elevation of the most absurd lies, the sheer concept of presidential immunity—all that for THIS fucking guy?

I see today is the 55th anniversary of the first broadcast of the first episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. I’ve probably seen every episode at least 20 times but whenever I rewatch there’ll be something that makes me laugh out loud like I’ve never seen it before.

What an absolute fruit loop.

lot of negativity towards AI lately, but consider : are these tools ethical or environmentally sustainable? No. *but* do they enable great things that people want? Also no. *but* are they being made by well meaning people for good reasons? Once again, no. maybe you're not being negative *enough*

yeah no we're not opposed to AI because of some skynet bullshit. We're opposed to LLM because it's smoke and mirrors, a grift, a lie, it steals our writing and our art, is being used to kill jobs, is environmentally *disastrous* and is being forced down our throats.
