YC posted about vibe coding , oh man I thought it was bad before Software engineers are cooked

Open ai really just killed the vibe People are upset that after months of hype the model is so “meh” Reality is the models are good enough It’s time to build products

Sonnet 3.7 is great at coding. I’ll still use open ai in products because of structured responses.

The Anthropic api now cursor has 3.7

I was skeptical the chat ui would stick People love a chatbox even if it’s less ergonomic

I’m shocked that perplexity is overall better than chat gpt pro Price aside I just gravitate to perplexity way more but they *technically* do the same thing the big difference is the UX

Why are people pretending the idea guy and technical guy can’t be the same person

I’ve never used an eval in my life Only vibes when I’m building agents

Can someone make a linear + Akiflow type app so I don’t have to

I couldn’t imaging going to market and competing with only a resume Regardless of what you do invest in sharing your work online and having a unique point of view

The improvements in a video generation is way more interesting Imagine having an agent produce a weekly 30 min show for you South Park already did this a year ago. quality is really the last hurdle

Why are people so obsessed with ai agents booking flights ? And why is this one task basically the benchmark for agi?

Took all weekend but the new landing page is up and app is up I took what learned from thumbagents to create the os The goal this week is to record a demo and record some YouTube videos

For my upcoming code sessions I’m still sticking with sonnet 3.5 They put something in that model fr I’m shocked it’s held out this long

Now I feel ok to pivot to building an os for ai agents. On top of the os I want to build a mini “Fivver for AI Agents”

Oh I was wrong about o3, it’s failing the vibe check. I lowkey have secondhand embarrassment rn

So funny to see how slowly news travels outside the AI tech bubble. The Deepseek paper was out for like 2 months

The irony of a ccp app being #1 in the US means consumers do not care about their data privacy

Open AI just released the biggest nothing burger after all that hype

I use cursor so much I find my self hitting “cmd+k” in random apps

People who are screaming ‘SaaS is dead’ are clueless and hype driven

Knowing a tech stack no longer counts as job security in the age of ai You need to be able to sell, distribute and create or risk having the ai telling you what to do

Managing your own team of AI Agents is the most important skill to have right now

Cursor + Sonnet 3.5 feels like your favorite free movie site from back in the day Once everybody finds out it gets overwhelmed with traffic and goes offline

It’s obvious now but I did not see AI Agents booming this much in 2025

Cancelled Devin , after the novelty wore off I realized my productivity actually tanked The killer: I spent more time cleaning up after Devin versus just doing the thing Devin probably makes sense for a legit team where things can get started and picked up by someone else

Is there a good backend as a service out there that is like AWS but not aws lol I just need topics, queues and a nosql database without having to dumpster dive between three tools

The whole workflows vs agents is a red herring. Agents have existed before Claude/open ai , and LLMs were popular. “AI Agents” is just an agent that uses AI in any capacity Very simple.

Using AI I find myself using less third party libraries - it’s easier to write complex utils from scratch - I don’t have to wait on a third party roadmap - Ai doesn’t have to get trained on the docs We may be moving to an era where these bespoke one use libraries aren’t needed

Season 2025 is going to be wild

Feels like every 20 mins someone is making a demand on my time This year I’m saying no a lot more

Cursor has raised another $100M. I think they’re going to run away with the #1 AI coding tool title. It’s just better end-to-end. A little tough to get started with though for non-coders

Cloudflare is close to being a nice alternative to Aws /Vercel for smaller projects The tooling just needs more polish

Most unproductive Saturday I’ve had in a long time Feels nice

😂 every since o3 was announced the tone has shifted for developers

Not Sam giving us a month and some change to prepare for o3 It’s going to get messy

I hit 2000 subscribers with just 19 videos today. It typically takes 121 videos to reach 1000 subscribers. I've been dogfooding my own product to help build a youtube channel. I could never reach this level of productivity without ai/agents to help almost every step of the way

I won’t consider AGI here until I can generate sick final boss anime fights on demand

NextJS is so annoying. Every new version introduces made up concepts and breaking changes I need to spend 2-3 days to understand

Okay I’m getting the hang of it now My best review of Devin is it’s “souls like” You’re going to mess up a ton before it starts being marginally useful Just keep it to frontend. It knows react really well

After using Devin for a few days. I get the premise, it makes it easier to get your backlog tasks tackled in parallel But this is worse than “junior” possibly less useful than an intern I spend more time cleaning up AI slop and “teaching” than just getting work done Decent prototype at best
