I deeply believe that so many people are one good mentor or one good community away from being able to transform what they can accomplish & their sense of self, to fill in the gaps in their skills & confidence. It frustrates me that so many folks are held back for not having those connections.

Some people think children are a source of wonder because they believe in faeries or the Easter Bunny. In my experience it's more that they find awe in, like, a stinging nettle or a cat. My 1 y.o. thinks birds are just perpetually astonishing. She thinks books are miracles. & she's right.

There's a game called High Tide, designed by @marcelineleiman.bsky.social, which has been building word of mouth, though only a few (handmade) sets exist. The 1st time I played it, I asked to play again 9 more times. I reject 99.9% of prototypes, to say nothing of asking to play again. 🎲✂️🧵(1/x)
