Fudging the numbers to pretend Manchester can get clean air whilst thousands die a year from pollution is a pretty shameful policy abdication

Highways have investigated @andyburnham.bsky.social's non charging clean air zone plans and have concluded they will have no impact on the city's dirty air

Liverpool is not a real city

Great to see @traffordcouncil.bsky.social's school street scheme feature on @bbcbreakfast.bsky.social this morning Give children the choice, and they will cycle to school. The only thing stopping them are adults who make our cities dangerous to be a kid!

There's a lot of talk about growth but rarely any discussion on how we enable our children to live prosperous, happy and productive lives. It will have benefits both now and in the future. The school run is the epitome of inefficiency. These kids know there's a much better way.

Travelling all around England this month. Can’t help but notice a huge increase in these in lots of cities. In this case, taking up 2/3 of the footway on a very busy pedestrian route between Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road. Is this a good thing for enabling walking?

Could Snake Pass close to motor vehicles? If permanently closed to motor traffic, the road could become one of Britain’s top tourist destinations for walking and cycling. Read my feature in the BBC article on Snake Pass www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Populists often like to exploit a supposed opposition between rural and urban residents to criticize cycle paths. So here’s a photo of the mayor of a French village (350 inh.) proudly standing on the construction site of the 600m cycle path that now connects them to the neighboring town (5200 inh.)
