One really cool grasshopper I spotted yesterday afternoon, wheelchair height can offer a different perspectives

I have bugs, true bugs, on my beans, I saw them and thought cool, then I learnt stuff, I will await the predators and provide inappropriate sound effects. #bugs #true-bugs

Yoma sabina (Australian Lurcher), out the front yard with a sea of bees on the mock orange bush, Murraya paniculata. #wildlifeofAustralia #butterfly

I’m ok with paper wasps, I remove nests from unwanted places by hand, so at least they can rebuild elsewhere, I was leaning on the fence to take a picture and forgot they were there, we are still friends but they gave me a good warning. They deter intruders ,good pollinators as well. #wasps

There was a great early evening sky, and the light was cool, this is as I saw it, just one picture.

Tree people, I like them, the blue green one would have been a big tree, I don’t know the story of how it came to be, possibly cyclone cleanup. The giant dung nettle with a ball of hose sprinklers is nearby. Every park needs a giant dung beetle, a friend in Australia.

A damp young male Great Bower bird, showing his purple patch, and the bower over the road in the botanic gardens. Regular visitors to the yard. Townsville. #wildlifeofAustralia #Birds

This skink was out last year, laying eggs, it spent some time making a depression in the soil that it was happy with. It was quite big. Garden skink, striped skink. There was even a skink in the sink. #wildlifeofAustralia #reptiles #skink

I harvested greens for cooking yesterday, I do look for little friends, this one was tiny, my camera claims many things but close ups are difficult to focus. A tropical House Gecko. #lizards #reptile

A vine hawk moth sheltering from the rain and looking a bit second hand after the storm. Townsville. #Moths #wildlifeofAustralia

A rainbow bee eater looking toward the sun going down, these stunning little birds are acrobats and look like rainbow spitfires when hunting. North Queensland

We are having a sky river type rain event in Townsville and Ingham in North Queensland the dam is at 150% it gives us time for the evacuations from the black zone It is going to kick off later today, one death in Ingham after a rescue boat crashed.

Left unsupervised again, I thought I might just play with the light

The saint Andrews cross spider, lovely things and always impressive. Townsville. #wildlifeofAustralia #Spiders

Yeah mate the possum you are looking for, the one with the bit of ear missing is Marlene, she is up the mango tree out the back. Brushtail possum, Townsville #wildlifeofAustralia

I only had the phone with me, I have to do better😌 The running or prowler spider, Tibellus oblongus It was tiny, and running, apparently a favourite food of wolf spiders, they normally live in the grass. #wildlifeofAustralia #Spiders

I keep thinking Shakespeare, a malevolent ruler, a retinue of landed twit courtiers, a failed wizard who wants to remove wizards that make people not sick. Posting bizarre edicts to keep the populace in fear, Jaberwocky perhaps. We haven’t got to the line of ascension yet and it’s only act one.

The first video I did with my camera, a male Birdwing butterfly shadowing a female as she lays her eggs on an Aristolochia tagala vine. #wildlifeofAustralia #butterfly
