Got a good ear worm today - Paul Simon’s ‘Hearts and Bones’

Two Angels These once decorated a chapel in the Torre della Gabbia in Mantua. The angels were detached in 1870. They may date about 1328, when Luigi Gonzaga became lord of Mantua, and are important testaments to the enormous influence of Giotto in north Italy. (Met Museum)

#SAFC. Have put the tin hat on it. Just when you need uplifting….

Wasn’t expecting this in a little historic church we popped into. 👀 😂

Finally, some good news. In particular, the boost for civic museums, which have seen real terms reductions in funding of 40% in the last decade. #museums #culture #art www.gov.uk/government/n...

Why do we make it so hard for ourselves ? #SAFC

A prosaic but heartfelt moan. I take a size 6 in shoes, which is the most popular size. I’ve spent a pleasant hour scrolling for new shoes, found 2 pairs that I loved, and both had sold out in my size, though they had every other size. Why can’t they just make more of the most popular size?

Morning Bluesky. “Nato believes Russia is also waging another war, an undeclared one, something called 'hybrid warfare' and that the target is Western Europe.” An interesting read.

Putin says Trump must go further before he’ll even agree to meet. Putin is entirely in the driving seat. The US has alienated its own allies, given Russia nearly all of what it wanted, bought Putin’s warped view of reality, and can’t even guarantee a meeting. The art of the deal, indeed.

On the day when Trump media sues the Supreme Court justice in Brazil for the investigation of Bolsonaro, he accuses Zelensky of being a dictator who should move fast or lose Ukraine. Starmer should go no where near him

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.
