This article in the Atlantic tells me that my books and papers were used to train Meta's AI 129 times. Of course this is illegally without my consent. Does this make me an AI developer? www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

One day I will write about something that isn't utterly, totally depressing. But it is not this day. University management, where logic and learning go to die. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/educati...

Great news - this article on unregistered providers in the NDIS published by Social Policy & Admin led by @sophieyates.bsky.social with me and Rae West is in the top 10 most-cited papers in the journal in 2023. @wiley.com #TopCitedArticle onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....?

Now free access in the journal where she contributed so much, our tribute to Gemma - with @hdicko.bsky.social, @jeremiahtbrown.bsky.social, Ellie Malbon onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Piece from me and colleagues in memory of our colleague and friend Gemma Carey who died late last year. She made some significant academic contributions and also worked in an incredibly collegiate way. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Assume these cuts include the 3500 new NDIA staff and the 3000 or so in defence (including those working on AUKUS)? All it will do is put people back into labour hire roles. And who will work on bulk billing access if they gut health? www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Got the chance to work on this important research that shows inequalities in being eligible for the NDIS using the NDIS's own data. theconversation.com/ndis-reforms...

Should have never gone to court. Had she not been high profile this would never have happened. Hope this experience doesn’t have too much lasting damage for Sam. www.theguardian.com/football/202...

tenders are out for the new NDIS support needs assessment tools, that the NDIS will pay for ndis.gov.au/news/10581-n...

Wonder how long it will be in Australia before we get to an AFR opinion piece about how NDIS funding causes airplanes to crash?

Me: I reckon I’m pretty average and pretty normal. Also me: I can’t possibly focus on the TV as someone put the volume on an odd number. Why is it making my hair hurt?

with a bunch of ableist screenshots being shared around, a reminder of what people with an intellectual disability think about the r-word. They call this hate speech, just to be REALLY clear. www.spreadtheword.global/our-words

Nobody’s forcing anyone to take puberty blockers and hormones. For those that take them they can be lifesavers. Why do we keep seeing this kind of mean-spirited ideologically driven nastiness in health policy?! www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Well, ****. They really are throwing people overboard before mythical foundational supports are even costed & agreed on. The community told you all people would be harmed. Believe us yet? #NDIS #Auspol @squigglyrick.bsky.social @criprights.bsky.social @asherwolf.bsky.social @hdicko.bsky.social

I’ve got a piece up at Crikey today on the NDIS. There’s been a concerted campaign to attack the NDIS in recent months, and it’s been massively dishonest www.crikey.com.au/2025/01/24/b...

A large study of 30,000 adults diagnosed with ADHD in the U.K. found women with ADHD died roughly nine years younger than women without a diagnosis. Men had about a seven-year shorter lifespan.

Thanks for all your positive vibes folks. Millie is home and with a really funky haircut. She has to be isolated from the other animals for 2 weeks and need to keep an eye on her stitches but so pleased to have her back.

All positive vibes need to be directed to Queen Millie who had to have surgery this afternoon and is in for a long recovery ❤️🙏❤️🙏

Wow meta have really gone full on in. I do not and have never followed Trump and yet his account is second in my stories and my account has followed JD Vance without my action or permission. I don’t even live in the US ffs

This shows exactly why we need a systems approach to health. If you can't see a GP (& there's a link to bulk billing here) and if aged care and the NDIS aren't operating well then people have nowhere else to go. All results in being more expensive & poorer outcomes. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-01...

Big week for me legally releasing some of the hate in my heart ☺️ www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This is so worrying and has shades of Robodebt with the reverse onus and exactly what so many advocates said would happen with the new legislation. The idea that the NDIA has not changed how it assesses eligibility is just baffling. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Assessing ARC grants this week and reminded of just how much I hate RMS. Logs you out half way through writing assessments, loses your comments and generally makes the task 3 times longer than it needs to be.

Think I am possibly allergic to work? One full day back and have woken up with one eye swollen shut and the other seems to be on the way too.
