In the 1960s, the evacuation plan for Halifax-Dartmouth called for residents to disperse to towns across Nova Scotia depending on where they lived in the city. Rural high schools would be converted to makeshift hospitals. I think the urban population was around 150k then. (Images: NS Archives)
