Important to follow up on this. It also why compliance and punitive behaviour models can create dangerously uncritical yp and adults who are then more easily groomed (in more ways than conspiracies). Thank you Mark.

Had the best day facilitating an InSet day on embedding SEMH into whole school culture. Huge thanks to @rachtomlinson.bsky.social for generously sharing her experiences via video link. She’s about 16 years ahead of us today 😃

Less than three weeks until The School Mental Health Toolkit is published by Bloomsbury Education Thanks to Sarah and Clare for these excellent endorsements. Available to pre-order now, in print and on e-reader.

OK controversial post coming up: let’s focus less on SEND and wrap around care and more on broadening out what schools can nurture as the norm and creating conditions where parents can afford to work less and children don’t have such long days to endure.

This.

Going beyond the tick box! If you're frustrated at the lack of deep personal inquiry, no real knowledge about recovery and watching the talk without the walk, then this conference has been designed for you. www.ticservicesltd.com/conference20...

Yes!The demands within the week must introduce space for attunement. And that’s not just for recognised SEND but many others including staff. Authenticity & congruence are replaced with masking & automatic detached compliance when demands don’t attune to natural human variations in need & capacity.

Fab trip to London today to share a focus on Co-Regulation. We started with some feel-good Emotional Contagion’ which created lots of smiles, some foot tapping and humming. Lots of interaction with the room. Thank you Phoenix School.

Taking a focus on co-regulation to a group of TAs in London. We will be starting with some positive emotional contagion 👌

Funny, other than the reason it came about wasn’t an actual intended joke.

Trying to find any EduTwitter peeps!

Are you setting the weather (emotional contagion) or bringing the umbrella (co-regulation)? Looking forward to sharing with TAs in London later this week. We will be starting with some positive emotional contagion 😀👌

👏👏

We can't learn to regulate when you don't feel safe. You can't teach resilience when you've learnt to hide how you actually feel. We do know this is not okay for us. But you keep telling us it is fine. Yes we can do lots of stuff. Yes we are bright and able.

Now that was a very interesting article! Definitely worth reading. Is there any reason not to video except the obvious contextual ones?

I did a webinar in embedding SEMH into your school culture: community.opogo.com/courses/embe...

Could you repost this for me good people? I'm hoping to reach as many folks as possible.

Hugely excited for this workshop at #PDConf25 👇 @rachtomlinson.bsky.social will be discussing how they create a feeling of #belonging for students at their #primaryschool pdconf25.eventbrite.co.uk

My next webinar is Embedding SEMH into Your School, for SLT. Tuesday 7th 4pm Register here community.opogo.com/event/embedd... It’s a wide and rich subject for such a short time but I will introduce you to my map which you can then use to anchor your journey, plus pointers and hopefully questions

I’ve registered my interest.

Sending warm wishes to all, especially those who feel life is not where all of the hype suggests it should be. You do you, in the best way that you can. Style it out/Ham it up or Unmask/Be real…Stay safe. Whatever works best for you. Be kind (yourself as well as others)& then there’s no wrong way ❤️

Steering the ship of school leadership is challenging, especially with limited funds and high expectations. Have you successfully navigated this paradox? Share your story with us!
