One reallllly cool thing is you can add animations on the side! I made a quarto document that is a fun intro to regression. I use gganimate here!

That’s wonderful! The seemingly drastic treatment was well worth it; hoping for the same over here, indeed, thanks!

I created a brief spreadsheet of reductions I've heard of so far. Any additions you know of (especially if you have the links/receipts) would be great: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

😅 Thanks, Jess! Robot tits would be awesome for someone much cooler than me. Going completely flat better suits my practical perspective. The real ones did their job 28 years ago (feeding my then baby). But over time they started shirking their duties and undermining me. So I fired them.

Maybe a package to go with a manuscript. It would include the data and custom functions that currently live in an R script that I source in the Rmd. Could be a cool way to support reproducibility. (That or a docker but I like the idea of learning how to make a package.)

Thanks, Stephen! I’m sorry your MIL had to go through that and hope she kicked cancer’s ass too. Hard to watch people you care about have to endure such things but supportive others make a big difference.

Thanks, Julia!! It’s not been fun so I appreciate the sentiment. It feels good to get the blood pumping though. I’m still here!! Gonna continue to make the most of it.

Thanks, Tiffany! (Tiff?? I can't remember if you go by Tiff. That means it has been too long. Hope you're doing well.)

I'm sure you do! I relate strongly to it being hard to get used to absence. It's probably hard for Pseudo too. 😞 Kindest regards to you and your family.

Also, you know whose ass I'm kicking now? R's ass, that's who. I just might try to make a package thanks to your ass-kicking on that front.

Thank you, Lisa! Wow, love that response. I've mostly just been putting one foot in front of the other but seeing your congrats kinda made me realize that some recognition for getting through it feels pretty good. ♥️

Thank you, Berna! I appreciate it-- today was my first day back to running after a little over 4 weeks. Felt so good to be outside on a sunny cold day, moving my body. (You've also been having a rough patch and I'm sorry for your loss. Hope Random's memory and beautiful photos are a blessing.)

Thank you, Jennifer!!! It’s been a wild ride but I’m stayin’ alive.🕺 My spouse is a wonderful supportive human and the situation could’ve been a whole lot worse. I mean, bilateral mastectomy is no picnic, but my heart goes out to folks with later stage disease and folks facing chemo and radiation. 💗

Jill! I’m sorry you had to go through that. Solidarity. So glad to know you’re feeling no regrets 5 years out. For the reasons you mentioned, I predict the same for me. My mammos always entailed biopsies. No more! (I’m just 4 weeks out at this point but am already appreciating a bra-less existence!)

Thanks, Kim!! I’d love fewer opportunities to prove it, but I appreciate the fact that my badassery is showing for a hot second. 😅

Thanks, Eiko! I hope for the same— going well so far. Trying to stay on top of physical and emotional recovery. Recovery schmovery, I always say.

❤️❤️❤️ They try to kill me but I just keep coming back.
I’m even better than Wolverine really. Can he go in the MRI scanner? Not bloody likely. And even if adamantium is non-ferrous, I bet the artifacts would swamp real signal. 🤓🤓🤓

Thanks, Anne! There’s no way you could’ve known. It’s not been a secret in my everyday life but I hadn’t said anything on social media until yesterday. Not sure what inspired me suddenly but happy it gave me your best.

Thanks, Andrea! I went flat because it’s prone to faster recovery and fewer complications. So far, so good. I was walking (very slowly and carefully) on a treadmill the next day and can start running again this coming week.

That’s kinda badass. (Almost as badass as pushing a small human out of my body 28 years ago.) I wish I hadn’t needed to go badass on my body (!) but doing so lets me do my thing on this earth for a little while longer.

Sometimes I’m sad about the change in my physical form. Who wouldn’t be?! Other times, though, I’m like Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams. They went bad so I had to lop them off.
