I actually did a bit of knitting in public yesterday, first while waiting for my dinner at a cute Irish pub, and then later out by a fire pit. #ShowMeYourKnits (The shawl pattern is Casapinka's The Vibrance of Strangers, meant for showing off wildly variegated skeins like the one I'm knitting.)

Do you know how badly you have to screw up as a Republican to get this kind of turnout in IDAHO? #NOKINGS

Cosigned! I've been picking up a skirt at a time slowly, and I practically live in them between spring and early fall. I thought for years I didn't like skirts, but it turns out I just didn't like having to carry everything due to lack of pockets. And these have amazing pockets.

You’ll be too young to remember, but there was a time when you could wake up as many as three mornings in a row and not find the world had lost its fucking mind.

TWELVE DAYS is how long it took Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe to activate the national guard after St. Louis was completely devastated by the tornado last month. The community spent 12 days fending for themselves because no one was coming to help. 2 days BEFORE planned peaceful protests are planned…

Grabbed some of this as well as some other things I've been either meaning to restock or try.

Here are some links to groups in LA who are supporting immigrant communities and responding to the ICE raids, recommended to me by a local organizer. Please share and support if you can!

Cowl week for #ShowMeYourKnits- one of my fav things to make. Details in alt. Could have had at least another additional post of entries and I may come back to it this weekend to share more. Love bandana-style cowls!

This unlocks the core memory of stopping at AAA before a road trip, and picking up all the maps and such with the planned route.

hey here's something I would love us all to do like RIGHT NOW: find out if your local library is doing any kind of pride programming or display, and if they are, email them to say thank you and why it matters to you. whether or not you're queer. especially if you're in an area where it's fraught

#ShowMeYourKnits is blankets this week. Not much to share since I usually crochet them, but here are two finished ones for the kiddo and a WIP. Hue Shift (number 3) is actually slightly further along than picture with 23 squares done).

Ow, my tbr.

Ahh, this looks so cute and like something that might be fun to do with the kiddo, eh @mikeheadley.bsky.social ?

Summary of life with a four-year-old, in two sentences. Me: "That [cleaning up a mess she made] might go faster if you use a broom." Her: "ummmmm.... no thanks!"

Oooh 👀

Current WIP for #ShowMeYourKnits. Andrea Mowry hosts an annual hat knit-along for Memorial Day weekend, and I'm playing along. This pattern is Harlow Flip, and it's intended to allow the brioche to be continuous when you flip up the brim. I love low-to-mid contrast two-color brioche.

This comment period ends today, 5/23, at 11:59 pm ET. Please do comment asap if you believe the government should allow us to get COVID vaccinations. I can't believe we even have to petition them about this, but here we are.

🙄

As a gamer and Florence + the Machine fan, I love everything about this 😍.

And in an unexpected twist, it turns out the most punk rock things of all are supporting public broadcasting and patronizing your local library and not cheating on your homework with AI

In light of today's weird AI book list debacle in Chicago, here’s a list of real, currently relevant books you can check out this summer from area bookstores and libraries, with local and regional connections. www.thepitchkc.com/generative-a...

They're literally trying to keep people from getting the COVID vaccine. Commenting here is an easy and quick way to push back.

Sigh. Job cover letter.

Imagine opening a job cover like that. (I'm sure people have, actually, probably with similar levels of success.)
