I was determined to view the full UK AIDS quilt in the short time it’s on display at Tate Modern, and today that’s what I did. So full of emotions. People who, like me, should still be here. I will never forget. That’s my promise to all of those who came before me and were taken far too soon.

Starmer's the least popular PM of all those who made it 300 days into the role, and for whom data is available. Considering that he took office after 14 desperate and miserable Tory years, that's quite some achievement. But it's no surprise when you see how he and Labour have been carrying on.

I'm backing @zackpolanski.bsky.social for Green Party leader. Politics is at a dangerous crossroads and we desperately need to be getting our Green message across more effectively. Zack - one of our top communicators - is best placed to do this. #BackZack

Shrink from it? He can hardly wait to deliver for his investors.

You be the judge! 👏👏 Kneecap

Impressions of an early visit at the #RASummerExhibition: - the overall quality of the art felt up from the past few years when it was declining(?), but still fairly middling. - shift away from familiar themes from previous years - much more photography, and I think fewer sculptures

Beyond delighted to share that ‘Park Life’ has been selected for the @royalacademyarts Summer Exhibition. Looking forward to varnishing day! #rasummer #rasummer2025 #royalacademyofarts #dialogue #photopolymergravure #rasummerexhibition #contemporaryprint #parklife

Well now... Sounds like this battle needs to be settled on the socials. ⚔️ What are the best town in Yorkshire *to visit*.... Answers below. 👇

Labour have been in power over 11 months. They also have a gigantic majority. Emergency legislation can be passed in days. They've had nearly a year. There is no reason for them to be perpetuating any Tory idiocies... unless they want to. So "but that's a Tory policy" doesn't wash as an excuse.

I was asked to come up with an "Idea for Keir". Easy. Stop arming Israel. www.newstatesman.com/ideas/2025/0...

In case you missed it, yesterday Labour negotiated a comprehensive and workable free movement deal between Gibraltar and the EU. Yet they repeat until they turn hoarse the assertion that they will NEVER bring back Freedom of Movement for the rest of us. Brexit is Brexit. www.itv.com/news/2025-06...

"Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirms £2.5bn boost for Oxford-Cambridge railway, reigniting ambitious East West Rail plans" 👏👏👏

how people in the united states, from elites to laypeople, talk about iran is so ignorant. country of 90 million people with a fairly developed economy and institutions. that's not a conflict similar to anything this country has had in like eighty years.

🎉 Huge welcome to our brand new Green councillor in Stroud. 💚 Congratulations @stroudgreens.bsky.social!

Jake will defend this guy then call us antisemitic for going on a march in support of Palestine

The Air India London bound crash looks utterly devastating. Reports of 242 on board, crashed seconds after take off and in a residential area. Many families in India and London will be so so worried. Thinking of them all ❤️❤️❤️

New maps show reforesting areas across the globe could remove 1.5bn tonnes of CO2 a year without harming people or wildlife. Reforestation opportunity maps like this are essential as regrowing trees remains a cost-effective option for removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Graphic: @theguardian.com

Still the best unboxing video I've ever seen, even if I say so myself ;)

🔥Daisy Cooper quotes Best for Britain's research in her response to Rachel Reeves. 📊 A deeper relationship with the EU will deliver 2.2% growth according to our research, equivalent to £25 billion per year in extra tax revenue. 🇪🇺 Want growth? Cut trade barriers with the EU.

Met an active duty member of the military yesterday who filed conscientious objector paperwork in response to deployment of military on U.S. soil. Was told multiple Army have filed, unknown quantities in other branches.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving. There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later. They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

The ‘Millionaire Exodus’ the UK Media Told You About Never Actually Happened The equivalent of 30 stories a day were published about an exodus of wealthy people that a new study finds was "non existent" bylinetimes.com/2025/06/10/t...

As imports of meat from Australia and NZ rise, we should remember that the terrible one-sided trade deals we signed will abolish all tariffs on Australian and NZ beef and lamb in steps over 10 years. So it's only going to get harder for British farmers. www.theguardian.com/food/2025/ju...

"Trump Always Wanted To Use the Military To Attack Opponents. Now He’s Doing It" In this short explainer video, with receipts!, I unpack the president's autocratic love for violence against protesters as he escalates in LA, including his praise for China after Tiananmen Square. zeteo.com/subscribe

Six years ago today, I was trying to get a single health policy idea out of the longest serving Shadow Health secretary in history. He was more up for selfies. He is, of course, famous for clogging up TV sofas after losing his seat.

Foxes are the tutelary spirits of London. They've lived in King's Cross rather longer than Google.

"Frustration is something Polanski wants to address. He notes that rural communities also feel abandoned by mainstream politics. "With Reform now the largest party in polls, Greens need to up the ante, and fast. Perhaps Polanski can help reset the dial." www.trillmag.com/news/politic...

💯 this. It's really sad to see the boosterism going on around the WFA u-turn.

NEW: Unemployment is up by 115,000 in the last year to 1.64 million. On the wider measure of underemployment, there are 4.92m looking for work - up by over 500,000 in the last year. Vacancies fell again - meaning there are now currently 6.47 people for every job going.

Labour to end 200 years of injustice by ripping up 'shameful' rough sleeping law Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said Government is 'drawing a line under nearly two centuries of injustice' by abolishing the Vagrancy Act 👏 www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

If we want to prevent the most catastrophic impacts of the climate crisis, there must be no new oil and gas drilling. The evidence could not be clearer. So why won't Starmer commit to leaving all fossil fuels in the ground?

ChatGPT is down but The Museum of English Rural Life still stands, proving once again that Silicon Valley cannot compete with the history of rural England and its people.

Tax the rich.

Been struck down by an awful case of carrot foot

Consistent at least: if you are an annoying whiner, why don’t you just go away, resign, leave us alone or die? It’s always “Oooh, you’ve cut off my disability payments, I’m starving, I don’t want to get suffocated in a burning high rise, please stop facilitating genocide”. Student politics nonsense.

OK so why isn’t the Trump administration being called an EXTREMIST WHITE SUPREMACIST REGIME far and wide because that’s what it is

@zefrog.eu - our new V&A mug!

This just arrived. Happy 250th anniversary, Miss Austen! #booksky

"Starmer beating the war drums, pushing fear and misinformation, just like they did before the Iraq War. They're hyping up the “threat” from Russia to justify massive military spending, while ignoring the real needs of everyday people." via Anthony Corella

Trying to understand (a) under what authority you can detain a boat in international waters and force occupants to watch a video and (b) why witnessing any sort of violence could convince us that starving an entire population to death is justified.

Incredibly concerned to see the forcible interception of the Madleen in international waters, and thinking of all those who were on board and have been detained. UK must condemn this breach of international law and immediately demand their release.
