Brightwell Barrow back in autumn, with Castle Hill Iron Age hillfort on the horizon at Wittenham Clumps. (My quarterly posting of this view)

Castle Hill and it's IA hillfort, Wittenham Clumps.

The entry to Swift Ditch from The #Thames near #Abingdon. This ditch was once the main navigation channel, bypassing the large river meander to create Andersey Island. Created around 1055, possibly by the monks of Abingdon Abbey to improve navigation and water supply.

Consecutive lynchets radiating out from the old hillfort on Blewburton Hill.

My favourite part of #Dartmoor youtu.be/-7B1CuMQCg8?...

St Helen's Church, beside The #Thames at Abingdon. The church is far wider than it is long, maintaining the altar on the Eastern side.

Another special night out, tonight Warren and I are in Great Staple Tor.

Crug Hywel; Celtic hillfort with Pen Cerrig-Calch behind (701m). #Wales

Waking up on a celtic hillfort, to an astonishing sunrise. Here is the video, I hope you like it... youtu.be/zxKe56Z1cr4?...

Tired old me standing on Crug Hywel hillfort in Wales, Sugarloaf mountain behind, taking a selfie. The video from this spectacular trip will go live on YouTube tomorrow evening. youtube.com/hedleythorne

Perched on an iron Age hillfort. Aerial photos and YouTube video to follow.

Goodnight, from high up in glorious Wales.

A place with such magnetism and majesty that I just had to return today and look down into the clouds. Great Staple Tor. #Dartmoor
