Locals are very...um...friendly at my place lol....

Had to show my sister the turning of the Fagus - her first time visiting Cradle in autumn :)

Start of the burning season! Will be a while before I can light up the bush though...and get into this year's cool patch burning....4mm of rain really wasn't enough to wet the peat layer!

Sitting with cows is very relaxing!

@laravanraay.bsky.social oh...hello there :)

Can't wait to try my new chocolate fudge icecream...

Rocky Cape National Park was magnificent as always today...

Here's a cool photo I took this morning... walking in Rocky Cape National Park we spotted a tiny baby White-lipped Snake on the track. It suddenly wriggled forward, to get away we thought...but no...it grabbed a skink right in front of us!!

Blue sky and sun chokes....

Big hail storm came through this arvo ...smashed the garden...and me as I tried to separate my on heat house cow that had got in with Big Ted during the panic! (Ted is too heavy for her plus...the power is off so electric fence was not working!) I got several big hits and am a bit bruised!

Keeping busy while my knee recovers...jobs where I can keep my foot elevated lol... In the shed I have started processing this year's quinoa crop......and when I get sick of hand threshing quinoa... I can move to the kitchen for cutting and drying my huge monzano chilli crop!

Gardening post operative style lol

Woohoo...this morning's special encounter! The first parent had just left too.

Vegetable garden is going off at the moment! All this plus 3 trays of blackberries I've already put in the freezer on my way back from my patch!!

How to exercise the dogs while waiting for knee surgery (torn meniscus)..... still a bit uncomfortable but it worked well!! Dogs got a good run and my knee was only a bit sore after the 4km ride but not nearly as sore as after yesterday's 500M slow walk!!!

So...after digging up the spuds it was morning coffee time when this happened! I'll often get one Swamp Antechinus popping up onto the front porch but FOUR is a first lol

Spuds harvested for this season - should last me a few months!!! Luckily the purple congos store incredibly well...up to 10 months :)

Well...that explains why there haven't been so many eggs this week! Hidden under a tussock in the paddock lol

We needn't be pawns?

@lixwalker.bsky.social welcome to the nice social media site :)

This season's garlic plaited and hung!

Check out these fabulous rock outcrops found at Rocky Cape Tas this morning...
